I was hoping for a North Carolina State upset. Unfortunately this doesn’t look like it will happen. A very good quarterback, but you need more than that and as you said you were missing some players.

Actually Finley is not that good. He has great stats, but in big games he disappears. His arm has not been the same since the Virginia game. No passes deep over the middle. We needed to get ahead and keep the defense off the field. The pick 6 ended the game, although I thought the clock malfunctions and the end of the second quarter showed it was probably over. It's disappointing. Syracuse would have given them a better game.

We also seemed like we were not ready for the humidity and warmth.

Moral of the story, be careful what you wish for. We agitated for the Gator Bowl instead of the Belk or Camping World.

It does make me wonder how good Texas A&M is and how good they may become with Jimbo Fisher as the coach.

The ACC goes from a 5-2 bowl record to a 5-5 bowl record over the course of 11 hours. Clemson needs to beat Alabama to give the ACC a winning bowl record.

Congrats on the win Clemson!

Beating Syracuse 36-3 after Syracuse hung with Clemson cause the transitive score margin fantasy to emerge again.

This is an unfair comparison. Most of Syracuse's strength came from QB Eric Dungey. In a game he played only five minutes and out, Notre Dame would and should shoot out Syracuse.

Also the only good win on Notre Dame's resume is seven point win over Michigan which got exposed by a mediocre Florida. I said Notre Dame is very lucky that they got a very weak schedule and Eric Dungey suffered a weird injury in the first quarter, so they are unbeaten.

With the Northwestern and Stanford wins, the Irish finish the season with victories over two 10-win teams and two 9-win teams by an average margin of 18 points in the four games. Not bad.

Easy schedule? It is damn hard to go 12-0 in the regular season. See above.

Good game yesterday Virginia Tech. Was a tough, gritty performance all around and frankly the most enjoyable football performance all around IMHO (a lot of blowouts and games where the outcome was pretty clear by the 4th qtr).

I don't think that game should be counted as a bowl, because well, it's not.

So far it looks like a 6-win ACC team = a 10-win AAC team.
(which is probably about right, actually)

Of course there is some formula for converting AAC records into ACC records - and of course, ACC wins are worth more.

Shouldn't it be a 6 win ACC team equals a 10 win AAC team playing their backup quarterback? Or almost equals???

True, UC at full strength probably would've gone 7-5 in the ACC this year; like 80% of all ACC teams, it would finish between 5-7 and 7-5... so yeah, my bad.
