My only regret is that the Hokies didn't get into the Belk Bowl... I do love me some CHICKEN with college football games!

UVa was soundly beaten in only one game this year - against NC State. Pitt/GT/VT and Indiana were all toss ups until late in the 4th or OT.

I thought they were the best team in the Coastal this year.

2018 was a HORRIBLE year for the ACC - especially the Coastal division - but there are signs that 2019 might be better. The Belk Bowl is one of them.

Clemson is getting ready to be 14-0 how is that horrible? What are the other members of the league supposed to do when playing the juggernaut often results in not one loss but a loss the next week?

Notre Dame does not belong in the CFP. Perennially one of the most overrated teams. They really need to join a conference or be left out.

Congrats on the win Clemson!

Beating Syracuse 36-3 after Syracuse hung with Clemson cause the transitive score margin fantasy to emerge again.

This is an unfair comparison. Most of Syracuse's strength came from QB Eric Dungey. In a game he played only five minutes and out, Notre Dame would and should shoot out Syracuse.

Also the only good win on Notre Dame's resume is seven point win over Michigan which got exposed by a mediocre Florida. I said Notre Dame is very lucky that they got a very weak schedule and Eric Dungey suffered a weird injury in the first quarter, so they are unbeaten.

Obviously I'm biased, but your observation gives objective confirmation that the Cavaliers are clearly improving. EASILY could have been 10-3. The schedule will arguably be tougher next year but with the recruiting class and QB Perkins returning, makes me think UVa will truly be competitive to win the Coastal.

Pitt totally dominated UVa in the second half of the game. It is not even close. Pitt trailed 7-10 in the half. But Virginia only scored 3 points in the second half while Pitt had two touchdowns and one field goal in the second half.

No doubt ED’s injury had an affect on the outcome of the game. But until the system changes, Notre Dame did everything they were supposed to do to get into the playoffs. I can’t blame them or find fault in what transpired.

Congrats on the win Clemson!

Not sure how joining a conference addresses being perennially overrated? The simple fact remains that outside of Georgia the past two years, over the past four years Alabama and Clemson make everyone else appear overrated. And that includes other CFP participants such as Oklahoma and Ohio State.

Cheers,
Neil

You should indeed. After all, it's your "turn". How embarrassing will it be to be the ONLY Coastal team not to win the division?

Cheers,
Neil

Actually, they aren't in the CFP. Funny how that works.

Hard to call any team overrated when they consistently recruit at a high level.

Notre Dame being or not being in a football conference should have no bearing on whether they make the playoffs. Winning games against P5 opponents should. C'mon man.

I enjoy the relationship with ND. Plus, if they do join a conference it will have to be the ACC, at least until 2036. That adds security to our conference.

7 minutes to halftime of the Military Bowl
(10-2) Cincinnati 14
(6-6) Virginia Tech 14

So far it looks like a 6-win ACC team = a 10-win AAC team.
(which is probably about right, actually)

Of course there is some formula for converting AAC records into ACC records - and of course, ACC wins are worth more.

Well, VT just literally threw the game away (INT into double-coverage on 2nd & 10 with 0:44 left).
Hokies LOSE. Ugh!

Cincinnati will no longer be considered as a potential bowl opponent for Virginia Tech going forward. Per Whit Babcock.

Well they actually lost the game on Cincy's last TD drive. I guess tackling was optional for the Hokies D?
