There is a court case right now called Alston Vs NCAA which gears towards paying players. I wonder if the WAC going after more than 1 D2 schools to be ready for the split at D1 with pay for play schools and non-pay-for-play schools. There are some WAC schools who could go with Pay for play and others not. The case went into final argument to the judge yesterday for a final ruling. If the NCAA rules against the NCAA? It could actually split conferences apart in D1 including the WAC. Shedding schools like Chicago State and UMKC would be ideal for for the WAC and Summitt shedding Purdue-Fort Wayne would be ideal. But this can actually split the private schools like Seattle and California Baptist from the WAC from the rest. Denver might have to go with Seattle. I do think if the ruling goes against the NCAA? I do think the NCAA may lower the entry fee and conferences waives entry and exit fees because of this case. Going after these D2 schools would be ideal. I read an article that the Dakota schools might allow Augustana in the Summitt, and Bentley and Southern New Hampshire to come in to the NEC. If there are no entry fees to join D1 for D2 schools? You might see many schools take the leap. Could see new D1 conferences formed, or revive old conference names. Could the Great West Conference restart with some WAC members? I think the WAC and other conferences may waive the exit fee and entry fees. This case could effect D1 and D2 schools in the future. I do think what Dixie State is looking at is that court case.

As for Colorado Mesa? They do have Beach Volleyball at the D1 level, and they would be impacted directly by the court rulings if it goes against the NCAA. If the men get paid? The women teams would want to get paid as well, and they would throw about the whole Title 9 junk.

The only reason CMU beach volleyball is D1 is because it is an emerging sport and does not have enough teams to compete at the division level. Officially it is actually called National Collegiate Division and not D1 meaning CMU does not have a team at the D1 level. You have been told this before.
