OT: Akron FB hires a new coach
Tom Arth from UT-Chattanooga. Played high school and college football in the NE-Ohio area.
I understand that he has connections in the region, but he only had a 9-13 record at Chattanooga... Seems like a big leap of faith.

Surprisingly no. He's making $500,000 a year.
Meanwhile Akron has to pay Bowden $630,000 for his buyout PLUS they have to pay $370,000 to buyout Arth's contract at Chattanooga. They did, however, net $485,000 from the canceled Nebraska game and made up fo the rest with the South Carolina game.
Still, hard to believe that ARKON is willing to pay a total of $1.5 million next year for a coach who doesn't have a big name at all. File it under the folder titled "Bunsis would burn down campus if it happened here"

Frank I am still searching for the proper acknowledgement of your post. Is it "Bullseye, Nailed it, Spot on, or Dead Solid Perfect"? No matter what you are 100% correct.
