We really need a home bowl game... I'd be all for Indy or Toledo or Akron hosting. The Owens Corning Glass Bowl! Or the Firestone Tires Rubber Bowl!

No one cares in Indy about the MAC and who really wants to come to Toledo or Akron in December?? People who like Football and crippling depression? Let’s forget it’s also butt ******* cold then too.

If the HoF village ever actually gets completed I can see having a bowl game at Fawcett Stadium. I think that's the only place that may be deemed somewhat attractive.

I think that it's in MAC territory for people to go to being the point -- not how much people currently Living in said city like the MAC.

I agree that going to an outdoor northern stadium like Toledo or Akron wouldn't be a good idea. That said, I always thought "butt *******" resulted in warmth, not cold. So maybe that'd warm up the Glass or RUBBER bowl? 03-wink

In a logical world, the Potato Bowl would be MWC vs. PAC12, and Detroit would be B1G vs. MAC.

I bet the Quick Lane Bowl would rather have an OH or MI MAC school then a crappy B10 team from 8 hours away. Bad contract.

It's always been easy for them to have a MAC school. They specifically said good bye to the MAC and only have an agreement because there is no one else to be a backup. Is there a bowl anywhere that doesn't prefer a P5 team over a G5 team?

Given the bowls at the bottom of the P5 conference bowl orders that are hanging on "their" conference having an unusually large number of bowl teams or else missing out on CFP and NY6 at-large picks ... no, doesn't seem like.

If the Potato Bowl could GET the Pac-12, they'd drop the MAC like a hot errr potato ... while we know that when an opportunity for a bottom end bowl between the Big Ten and ACC opened up, the Silverdome shouldered the existing bowl committee aside to make room.

Which is also why the actual "tweener conference" status that the AAC can point to is that half of their tie-ins are against A5 conferences. Indeed, that may be why the Frisco Bowl is officially an at-large tie in ... the bowl owner has agreements with Go5 conferences to fill that other spot, but the bowl does not have any contracts to do so, so it can officially be listed as "AAC vs at-large".

We need to stop accepting bowl invites until we have a coach that gets us prepared for them.

Geez, the MAC is absolutely shitting the bed yet again during MAC season. Way to go EMU and NIU losing to inferior opponents. OU will probably get shredded by SDSU tomorrow and then Toledo will probably duplicate their bowl dud from last year on Friday. SMH.

I wouldn't necessarily say that EMU and NIU are losing to inferior opponents. Georgia Southern and UAB had two more wins than them coming in with a much closer location for the sake of crowd advantage. The other games? Yeah we need to start winning those.

RE: 2018 MAC Bowl Season
I wouldn't say GA-Southern's an inferior opponent to EMU -- especially when it's more of a substantial (and warm) road game for EMU. I would put them on the same level.

NIU vs UAB -- both with good Ds historically this season, but NIU with a poorer O. I wouldn't put NIU above UAB, but I would have given UAB the edge. But not a blowout.

I still stick with Ohio beating SDSU tomorrow. And Toledo to win.

But I'll also pick WMU to lose to BYU (but putting up a fight somewhat; not close, not a stomp) -- and Buffalo to barely-lose in theirs.

Dear MAC,
It's obvious. Northern Illinois lost because of bad play calling. Just ask axeme.

NIU 0fer under Hot Rod in bowl games. Outscored 232-81 I believe. What a gong show!

Typical Rod Carey postseason performance. Yet another blowout loss, but this time to a program that had just been reinstated two years ago.

This has gotten old and this is why so many NIU fans are frustrated with Hot Rod.

Pretty crazy stat right there. 0-6 in bowl games. Something's gotta give.

Looks like Ohio will be 3-point favorites in tonight's bowl game.

First ever match up between the Bobcats and the Aztecs if I'm not mistaken.

RE: 2018 MAC Bowl Season
Can't pile on NIU when the MAC overall has been performing so poorly in bowl season over the years. And it's not like we're playing P5s. It's mostly peer CUSA and SB teams.

That's not to say we light it up in September OOC, but we tend to perform better in those early season games. Not sure why. Are the northern guys more 'in awe' of the experience (warm weather, touristy stuff, etc.) whereas the southern players are more focused?
