Been looking forward to playing @S. Miss since we joined CUSA. This game and @Marshall and getting back in the same conference as FIU and FAU were the main reasons I want Western in CUSA.

Almost accurate. ODU is the sad/angry gf, but it's UTEP who is lookin at Charlotte. UTEP is our current internet rival, not Charlotte. 04-cheers

I believe that the ODU vs UTEP rivalry is considered 2000 miles of smug indifference with a light coating of disgust. Am I right?

I think after the clockgate episode in El Paso a few yews ago it got bumped up to "2000 miles of general dislike"

Think the rivalry gets boosted when you consider basketball. Last time we were there two years ago, they threw bottles at our players. I wonder how it will be this year when we visit again. So yeah, when you count basketball, it's "2000 miles of mild disdain"

We lost three games by a total of six points. We also return six defensive and ten offensive starters. And you are far from the most difficult opponent on the schedule.

Well we lost 3 games by a total of 7 points. And another by 8 in cusa. Two can play that game

I respect S. Miss, at times it might not show but I understand the hardship of having to do more with less and understand how hard it is to gain respect in the middle of the SEC....with a lot less

I might get into a debate on the past/history or attendance, but it doesn't have anything to do with not respecting that past....more to do what it means today. Plus I'm competitive, probably more so than most...so I go for the kill when trying to debate my point 05-mafia

Same goes with Western's history in basketball and having two state schools with national championships ....knowing that at a point in time Western was ahead of Louisville and right there with uk. Most fans dont realize that but it's 100% true. To Western fans we are very proud of that history.... today it means very little because Western failed to build off it. It took me many years to realize that myself. Plus the heartbreak of seeing teams that couldn't carry Western's jock strap when it came to on the court results....passing your team up and moving on to other conferences.

Western fans know that pain just as well as S. Miss fans....small school small town getting left behind

2013: FAU 41 - 7 Southern Miss

We won 1 game that year and were in the middle of a 1-23 stretch.

We owe both payback. WKU and FAU thrashed us. I already like our chances.

Smart move. Better to pad your win total with those easy wins in the Western Division than get exposed by taking a thrashing from ODU two years in a row.

Man, I wish I could really mean this smack talk. 03-banghead

La Tech owns UNT. UNT owns USM. USM owns La Tech. That makes no sense.

You’ve beaten us twice, which is the only thing that really matters. Your fans don’t gloat over a blowout during the worst stretch of our university’s history or brag about hiring away a defensive coordinator literally every one of us is glad to see gone. Instead, you demand better out of your own program than what you have gotten. So far, you’ve done it well enough to run off a mediocre AD who had been there forever, and run off bad coaches in your revenue sports. Every Southern Miss fan should respect y’all at least on those tangible items.

RE: 2019 football crossover games announced
Considering usm as a fanbase on here are the biggest snobs of all the teams , it is rich hearing you talk about earning respect. I respect all the teams in the conference. Your fanbase on here as a whole are the biggest blowhards by a wide margin. I do like some of them still but the people like you far outweigh the small minority

We were talking about past results. Weren't braggng about killing you. We were down too btw. That was 2013. We weren't good. We had a 1-11 and 3 straight 3-9 years. Didn't stop people from bragging about owning us then ( see middle Tennessee guys on here )

One guy bragged about hiring your D.C. It was more that we could take him rather than being pumped about the actual hire. He's gone now. Charlottes DC from last season is his replacement

Charlotte demands more but we don't? Whatever you say..

Never mind that we swept cusa just last year in winning the conference. Had to replace both coordinators and when one didn't work out we fired him along with the wr coach. But again have fun in your own little world

Since he's relatively new here maybe he doesn't know how snobbish some of the USM veteran posters here can be?

Snobbish?03-lmfao Just like Ragu Sauce, guess you've never been to a USM game in H'burg. We are some of the friendliest and accommodating fans in Division 1.

Unlike some folks, however, we understand how sh!tty we are right now, yet we persevere, not because of the PAST, but because of the FUTURE.

Yet, we are proud of our PAST, and we understand some folks don't like it BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO PAST. That's not our fault. We also understand ONE GOOD YEAR does not make you Bama or Notre Dame. That's not our fault either.04-cheers

Much of the back-and-forth with FAU is just good-natured normal, typical fan inter-action. I'm sure the FAU fans love their team just as we do, and no one should take it so personally.......

But just wait til you see their reaction to this....the Atomic blast at Bikini Atoll looks like a firecracker in comparison..03-lmfao

Snobbish on this board Not talking about a whole fanbase in the world or how they'd be less apt to shoot their mouths off in person over behind a computer
