Don't sleep on the FL schools... They will close strong. Maybe even better than NT.

I do like to see how the recruiting in C-USA seems to be improving as a whole.

Dont bet on it...over the past 3 years, the ranking changes a lot with signing day. UNT has 22 commits and S. MISS only 16. Tech ONLY 11, FAU 9 and most of the rest between 7 and 14. So as teams commits go up the closer it gets to signing day it will change.

UNT has a 154.38 total right now with 22 commits....that would be 7th place last year in CUSA

UTSA is listed 6th by 247 as of today https://247sports.com/Season/2019-Footba...ence=C-USA

UNT 154.38 (22 commits)

ULL 157.11 (21 commits)
Western Michigan 154.44 (only 19 commits)

Boise State 151 but only 11 commits unless they can only sign 11 they will finish higher than UNT (22 commits)

USF 154.19 with 19 commits will past UNT with another commit
Cincy only has 16 commits 147 so they will pass UNT with 3 more commits
ECU 18 commits 150 will pass if they sign 20 players ( UNT 22)

Marshall won last year.

Official 2018 final Rankings

Looks like UNT this year.

Official 2019 rankings

Looks UTSA has consistently been in the top 3. That should pay dividends down the road.

Rivals does not do a composite of all 3 rating services like 247. And they must not keep a close watch or update their listing....Western did not have a 28 man class last year. Only 23 signed

Some day you guys will stop worrying about stars or rankings from places like Rivals. They are utterly worthless when it comes to any school outside the Top 15 blue chips that they actually evaluate for recruits.

Not to mention they basically don't even attempt to evaluate linemen outside the Top 20 in the country. They'll just blindly slap a 3 or 2 star rating on them and call it a day. That impacts classes that are heavy on D and O linemen such as UCF's class this year.

Also, JUCO guys (IMO) rarely live up to ANY rating they're given. I much prefer HS kids.

I agree 100%. Results on the field is all that matters. Who gets the most 3* or 4* is good for message board chest beating.

Ranking are pretty real, sometimes their games don't transfer to the college games. Sometimes a player develops late. Marcus Davenport was a 2 star, he ended up being a 15th overall pick. I think this conferences highest pick ever. Regardless those ratings matter and sometimes they work sometimes they don't. I'd rather be in the top 3 every year than the bottom three . Rivals was created in 1998 & 247 sports was created in 2010. 3 stars & above are usually good. 2 stars are a random guess.

Blah blah blah. Nothing matters until signing day and IF they ever even see the field. We are notoriously late on our signings and as someone mentioned, despite all of the bluster from UNT, we won the recruiting battle last year. You know what? I’m not even excited about that and won’t be until they see the field.

But here’s an atta-boy for your early recruiting lead.

RE: UNT Adds Another 3 Star Recruit to #1 Class
USM picked up quite a few commits over this past week:

3-Star Dual Threat QB Jaden Johnson 6'3 210...decommitted from Louisville to us. Offers from UGA, Louisville, Memphis, Indiana, and USM.
2-Star OT Tanner Hawthorne 6'6 305....originally signed w/ Purdue out of HS, transferred to JUCO. Offers from UNLV, New Mexico, and USM.
3-Star OT Tre Johnson 6'8 320...originally signed w/ Miami-FL out of HS, transferred to JUCO. Offers from Indiana, SDSU, MTSU, NM State, and USM
2-Star TE Naricuss Driver 6'3...from a JUCO school I've never heard of. We're his only offer thus far.
Unrated DE Eriq Kitchen 6'2 250...JUCO. Offers from Colorado State, Troy, MTSU, ODU, and USM

We've got a real young team. Having some of these JUCO's guys come in a push them is a really good thing. We essentially return our entire offensive line, running backs, QB's, WR's...and our entire defense w/ the exception of a couple of d-linemen/LB's. If our team can generate a run game next year then we're going to roll through CUSA. IF IF IF IF lol.

Indiana seems to be hitting the South hard...or at least surfing in the same areas Southern programs recruit...

Does Indiana have a HC or a buncha asst coaches with ties to the South? (Ok, I guess I could look that up and answer my own question)
