Anderson family cancer battle
Article doesn’t mention it but AState leaves for Arizona Bowl on Christmas Day.
I’d hate that if I thought it might be my last Christmas together.

Keeping the Anderson family in my thoughts. I just lost a grandmother to breast cancer earlier this month. It's a tough tough disease.

Coach needs to step away from football and concentrate on his family if that’s what the family wants. I, as a fan, would not have a problem with that and I’m sure the players and administration would understand as well. A lot of stuff is bigger than this game. I’m as guilty as they come with taking it too seriously.

Prayers for a return to good health for Mrs Anderson. Lost too many relatives (including my Mom as a young child) to that awful disease. I pray for the day Dr's come up with a cure.

I hate to hear this. I'll pray for the Anderson's. News like this sure puts football into perspective.

He should have earned 60 days of sick leave now. Assuming he used 20 last time he should have about eight weeks worth and he gets time off for about two weeks after the bowl when the school is closed so that’s 10 weeks he has protected by law not counting FMLA which could add some unpaid leave.

Keeping the Anderson family in our prayers.

Also, the wife of Cajuns' AD Dr. Bryan Maggard was just diagnosed a month ago. She had had a clean mammogram just a month prior.

That's twice in three years the Cure Bowl really hits close to home.

Unfortunately there is more bad news for Coach Anderson's wife. They have diagnosed her with Stage 4 cancer that has metastasized.
