I guess I should be excited about our league getting off to a good start if they can hold their lead. Just not into it as yet.

Ragin' Cajuns is kind of neat nickname. Still not excited.

Score got to 24 - 7 before I could finish my post. Yea!

Now 24-10 as Tulane turn over deep drive interception and 63 yard return led to LA FG

Another Tulane TO.

Minus the turnovers they played pretty good.

Great game by the Green Wave. They are getting better under Willie Fritz. Kudos to them.

Something about those west coast "G5" teams bugs mean and I can't find myself cheering for them. Probably because they're our biggest direct competition.

I think the AAC and the MWC is better than the P12 this season

I'm not as down on Tulane as a lot of folks and fans in our conference. There's a lot of talent down that way and it's obviously a great town to visit for an away game. With the right coaches, I think they can be competitive in AAC fball and bball.

Heck of a story. Just a couple seasons removed from when the University of Alabama BOT and the former President of UAB manipulates a report to shut down the football program. Imagine how hostile it would be here in Cincinnati if OSU tried to do that here?

Great point Clifton. To drive that further down the incredible lane, the current coach Bill Clark's first year was in 2014 when he took the team to a 6-6 record. This was after the previous coach went 2-10 and 3-9 in 2013 and 2012 respectfully. The UAB football program was shut down for the 2015 and 2016 seasons but thankfully CUSA kept them in the conference. Clark comes back to lead the team in 2017 to an 8-5 record and a Bahamas Bowl birth - only their second bowl in the program's 21 season history at the Division I level. This season he achieves the following in UAB history:

Won UAB's only conference championship
10 regular season wins most ever
11 total wins
Won UAB's only bowl game
UAB played in consecutive bowl games first time ever
First coach to finish three consecutive seasons above .500

This guy should be coach of the year IMO. He won't be at UAB for much longer that's for sure.

RE: 2018 Bowl Bonanza Thread
Looking at last night's score it makes me wonder if Ohio might be the best team UC beat this season? And I mean that with no disrespect. That was an impressive victory over SDSU and the Bobcats finished strong. So UC's victims Tulane and Ohio each won their respective bowl games convincingly which only makes the 'Cats ten win season that much more impressive.

I think that's very possible. USF was not what they were early in the season. And UCLA was better later in the season than they were at the beginning. I'd take Ohio over Tulane. They have to be kicking themselves for their loss to Miami. Cost them the MAC (they blew out Buffalo the following week).

That Miami game was really weird...definitely one they'd love to have back.

Really, if OU could close, they'd be at 12-2 this season (including the MAC CG)

Lead UC by 2 points with 7:44 left in the 4th (and had an opportunity to score at the GL)
Lead NIU by 4 points with 4:51 left in the 4th

The Virginia loss was a blowout, and the Miami game was one where they had to come back from an early fart noise and gave up a safety in the 4th quarter which ultimately was the difference.

Nathan Rourke is a pretty damn good hybrid QB.
