RE: College Football Coaching Changes
Kansas, Maryland, and North Carolina have been the biggest headscratchers for me. I think Les Miles just wants more money and won't be fully invested the way Kansas needs to turn that program around. I think the game passed him by.

Maryland hires a guy with a head coaching record of 3-31.

If UNC thinks Mack Brown is going to come in and compete for ACC championships, then they'll be disappointed. If they expect him to come in and get the team bowl eligible then they'll probably be happy. He's been out of the game for so long and it's been a long time since he's recruited on the east coast. UNC just doesn't look like they care about football but want to pretend that they do.

All the new coaches have been named except Akron. I imagine that’s a tough sell.

Is anyone else shocked that Holgerson left WVU for Houston?

I'm very surprised. He basically demoted himself. Good for Houston but the optics are embarrassing to WVU and DH. I guess it's better to leave before getting fired and he has a big rebuilding year in 2019. I am very curious about who they will hire.

Seems like it will either be Neal Brown (Troy HC) or Luke Fickell (Cincinnati HC). An oustide shot is the current WVU defensive coordinator.

Like to see Neal Brown get the job. Good for a UMass guy and weaken, hopefully Troy. (-:

I like the hire for WVU even if I make fun of my coworker about it. "What can Brown do for you?" I'm surprised he wasn't hired in the first wave. He looks like he can rebuild a program and that's exactly what WVU will need after losing so many players after this season.

Larry Fedora - former UNC HC
Butch Jones - Alabama Staff
Seth Littell - HC N. Texas
Matt Canada - Maryland OC
Todd Orlando - Texas DC
John Grass - Jax St. HC
Vic Koenning - Troy DC
Matt Moore - Troy OC
Gene Chizik - former Auburn HC, UNC DC
Dan Enos - Alabama Off. Coach, former CMU HC
John Schlarman - OL Coach at Kentucky
John Sumrall - LB Coach Ole’ Miss

New Troy HC:
- Chip Lindsey - former Auburn OC

Couple more names thrown around for the final opening at Temple:
- Rod Carey- HC N. Illinois
- Joe Rudolph- OC Wisconsin
- Chris Creighton- HC E. Michigan

Is it just me, or is there a high turnover of coaches this year?

I feel like this is lower than normal.

I don't know that I would say it feels lower but it definitely doesn't feel like more than usual. Maybe since the coaching changes have been more spread out through the off-season makes it feel like there was more if you look at just a numbers list but less from just a feeling perspective.

There haven't been any blue blood openings that created a trickle down effect either. Ohio State hired from within. Southern Cal didn't make a change and the only coach swept up to the NFL was already fired from Texas Tech (dumb Cardinals).
