Miami Hockey ties #1 twice this weekend
We hosted #1 St. Cloud State and tied 4-4 and 2-2. We also split the tiebreakers so both teams got 3 points in the NCHC standings. It did help our pair wise rankings as we bumped up from #25 to #19. BG is #12 and WM is #15, Normally you need to make it to #14 or #15 to get an at large bid.

I remember when Miami was an annual power under Enrico 5-15 years ago. College hockey is more interesting to me when they’re good.

WMU is coming off of 4 straight wins including a sweep at North Dakota. We have top 5 Minnesota Duluth coming in this weekend. Should be a great series!

Let's go MAC hockey brothers!

In semi-hilarious hockey news, BG scores an own-goal on a delayed penalty.

Yeah. Don't see that often. Bowling Green got the sweep in Huntsville, though. (We need to beat nearly everyone to stay this high in the pairwise.)

Keep winning Broncos. We need the help.

A Frozen 4 that includes Western Michigan, Miami Ohio and Bowling Green St would be epic.

Hell, maybe even Buffalo if we could get some Bulls fans to show, and then throw in a strong OSU team as a possibility (who BG beat 8-2; have to gloat because just playing a majority of the WCHA is not helping the program move forward right now.) A MAC Frozen Four will happen, HAS to happen in the not-too-distant future now that all three programs are good again (**ahem...sorry about those couple years when our president publicly mentioned the possibility of cutting hockey...we’d be in the same league without that innecessary utterance.)

I think you're right about all three teams being in the same conference if it wasn't for the "cutting hockey" rumors. Conversely, WMU was very public and loud about going "all in" on hockey and it paid off by getting us in to the new conference. The problem is, we haven't actually gone all in yet and are still patiently awaiting the new arena news that was rumored 4-5 years ago.

WMU took 5 of 6 points against defending national champion and #4 Minnesota Duluth this past weekend.

Goes in to the break #2 in the NCHC.

No. 12 Bowling Green just swept No. 3 Minnesota State. The Falcons made a statement right there.
