As I posted in the other thread, with all things being equal record wise, all people who are in the business of filling out bowl matchups care about are ratings and attendance draws.

Depends what is a better fit for your program.

For most of the MAC they'd be better off with 6 home games, an easy P5 and 1 for 1s with CUSA/MWC/SBC. With this schedule they could average a win more per season and play in more bowl games. Even a lower tier bowl game is good for the MAC because of the TV exposure.

I would argue that for NIU, WMU, Toledo it makes sense to load up in the non-conference if conference play is not going to be a problem. They can afford to go 2-2 in non-conference play if they'll finish 5-3 in the MAC or better each year. That would put them at 7 wins which is a lock for a bowl game these days.

I would prefer to have a chance for a bone yard win vs a P5 than more G5 ooc games, and end up with a G5 bowl game.

I would pick NIUs schedule of Utah/FSU/BYU/Iowa any day.

Well it worked. You defeated BYU and you won the MACC.

NIU is the only MAC school in the Illinois-Wisconsin region and has a recruiting advantage over the likes of Kent/Akron sharing the same city. NIU should have a good FB team. For Kent/Akron/EMU/Ball they should be scheduling to become bowl eligible, build some program continuity ect. Ohio may be ready to graduate out of that to more aggressive scheduling.

Yep and with a compotent offense we would have had a better shot at Utah and Iowa too. Our defense played them both lights out until the 4th since they were out on the field so much.

I would have taken an additional win over fsu/iowa/utah over a MAC championship.

Hang on, you ordered the non-CCG winners in reverse order by division titles, to put the Bobcats last. Let's sort that out, and rank those tied by average MOV:

NIU: 4 (4)
Toledo: 3 (1)
CMU: 3 (0)
Miami: 2 (2)
BG: 2 (2)
Marshall: 2 (1)
UB: 1 (1)
WMU: 1 (1)
Akron: 1 (1)
Ohio: 0 (4) 03-nutkick
Kent State: 0 (1)
Ball State: 0 (1)
EMU: 0 (0)

What about ties in the division which leads not representing the division in the MACC but technically winning the division via co-champ?

I dunno about that. If WMU didn't blow that game in OT against BSU by going for 2 with that BAD call on it -- WMU & NIU would have tied for 1st in the West, and WMU would have gone to play Buffalo. Would NIU fans say "We're also MAC West Champs!"? No. Would WMU if WMU lost to NIU? No.

I think it's important for certain teams that rarely battle for the top -- like say, Kent or Ball State. Otherwise, IMO, it's not too important. Butt, I'll try to put it in my own layout:

[MAC CHAMPIONSHIPS] - [DIVISION TITLES] - [SECONDARY CO-DIV TITLES]

MAC EAST:
Miami: (2-4-3)
BGSU: (2-4-2)
Marshall (2-3-0)
Akron: (1-2-1)
Buffalo: (1-2-0)
Ohio: (0-4-1)
Kent St: (0-1-0)
Temple: (0-0-1)

MAC WEST:
Northern Illinois: (4-8-2)
Toledo: (3-4-4)
Central Michigan: (3-3-1)
Western Michigan: (1-2-2)
Ball State: (0-1-0)

...
Kent St: (0-1-0)
Ball State: (0-1-0)

So, yeah, skip it. It's not even an alternative to ranking equal CC-DC records by Average Margin of Victory, if it doesn't split Kent State and Ball State. The most important feature of any tie breaker, after all, is that it is to the advantage of Kent State.

Left in the kicking OhioU for 4 grabs at the gold ring with no success.
