I never tasted better crow. When they were trying to bring football back, I thought they never comeback from when their president shuttered the program. This definitely will be an ESPN doc. Congrats UAB and their fans, no program deserves it more!

Tristan Henderson's impromptu speech from the heart became a rallying point. It was a strange and eventful day. A few minutes before that video begins, AD Brian Mackin refused to address the team and resigned. Ray Watts, being a moron, stepped in to do it himself - giving us the personification of evil we absolutely needed as a rallying point.

You can hear another turning point in the background, at about 3:05 where the crowd outside begins chanting "**** Ray Watts!" That's the moment when the two women's teams were fired via university-wide text message and it enraged the ponytails - female athletes and spirit teams, current and alumni. They were the shock troops in the days that followed.

I stood outside that room as the team exited and I shook every hand and thanked every coach and player who came out. Since the administration wouldn't I figured someone had to. All except one. Bill Clark refused and thanked me instead.

Today was a special day.

Seriously though, I do like what that guy asked about what is he supposed to tell his son who had been to every game regardless of the distance. That is a real father right there, and his son is a genuine fan.
