2018-19 Big Ten Basketball
Conference play started tonight. Rutgers played Michigan State close in the first half but their lack of offense in the second half sealed their fate. The Spartans needed this game to work out some kinks as they were also struggling with turnovers.

Big weekend of games. Michigan, Michigan State and Indiana getting the more critical wins. Wisconsin tripped up against Marquette. Purdue to play Texas later today.

No good for Purdue today, but not an overall bad start to the season for the Big Ten.

Did anyone else see Penn State's head coach, Pat Chambers, shove his own player? He is now suspended for one game, today against Wisconsin. If anyone saw it, I'd like your opinion. I didn't think it was as bad as the media made it out to be. I've had celebratory shoves, hits, etc. that were more intense than that.

Perhaps too much of a correction on the heels of incidents involving college basketball coaches in the past, referring to Mike Rice and Bob Knight way back then. I think it effected negatively Penn State's performance vs Wisconsin.
Anyway, interesting game tomorrow involving Minnesota hosting Maryland. Could it a key game for the fight for an at-large bid.

With all the strength in this conference in 18/19, the NCAA selection committee and NIT better now screw this conference again this year. Last year was a travesty, only 4 Big 10 teams got an NCAA bid, which I believe is almost an all time low and Michigan goes all the way to the title game. Then the NIT picks only 2 confernece programs and Penn State wins it all in one of the strongest NIT fields in memory

Any chance Maryland had in catching the top 2 just took a huge hit tonight. Rutgers with another quality win as well.

The Big Ten might be the strongest and deepest conference this season.

I really think it is the deepest conference. Will it produce the best team, I don't know? I like Virginia, Michigan, Michigan State and Tennessee so far. Duke and Purdue look solid too. Can't wait for March, this is going to be a great tournament this year.

I'm hoping Rutgers can steal a victory at home (packed RAC) tonight against Indiana. 4 conference wins and can move ahead of tOSU.

Wouldn't be surprised at all to see Rutgers win this game.

RE: 2018-19 Big Ten Basketball
So we had Michigan and Michigan State looking like they may breeze through the first half of conference play. Now, Maryland, Wisconsin and Purdue are charging and at least Michigan State is falling just a bit. Cant wait to see how this ends!
