I’m only starting this because I need 1 question answered...

What mascots will be at Mario’s birthday party? I’m hoping for Gritty. The event was DOA last year but MeLVin from the Phantoms saved it.

RE: Robert Morris
Have not seen a line on this one but this is one we have got to win. This is not a good team as most of their losses have been double digit blowouts. Hopefully this can be a confidence building game for our guys.

You're favored by 4. The components of the Sagarin expect you to win by 6.15 (Overall), 6.64 (Predictor), 5.06 (Golden_Mean), and 2.71 (Recent). http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_207_Men.html expects you to win 75-69 with a link to http://realtimerpi.com/cgi-bin/rpi/scout...date=12-01 that expects you to win 77-73 with a 59.6 chance at winning.

RE: Robert Morris
Bad start to the game but finished the half well. Some stretches of really bad and forced shots. When Spiker took Harper out with about 4 to go, it was smart. Harper was out of control again and needed a break. Perry had a nice dunk with a couple of defenders right around him. It was a great aggressive finish that we need to see more of. Coltrane made his first appearance and he seemed to do well. Surprised he didnt redshirt, not sure if playing today kills his redshirt since he will still be below whatever the percentage of games played is, but nice to see him out there. Cam has stupid good vision and passing skills.

42-34 lead at half.

82-69 final.

Nice to get a win. Very balanced on offense which was nice to see. Harper finally made a 3 pointer. Team chemistry is definitely building and getting stronger. Led by as much as 19 late before we milked clock which led to essentially a few straight clock violations (late, bad missed shots) and turnovers.

RE: Robert Morris
If Lee's injury was so bad he couldn't play the rest of the year, he could get a medical redshirt like Sam Green did last year. I don't think his is that serious that he would miss the whole year unless there was some re-injury or something.

By playing today, Coletrane would not be able to do a voluntary red-shirt. If he played only played in a few more games and had a season-ending injury, he could get a medical red-shirt. It seems as though perhaps Zach Walton will be out for a while since they decided to play Coltrane. It is not exactly a vote of confidence for Sam Green, as I would have thought he might be able to fill in some there.

RE: Robert Morris
This was an impressive victory for Drexel. From the start, it looked as if RM was a quicker, stronger team and I had a bad feeling about how things started out. Nice win against a team that looks like they might be the team to beat in the Northeast this year.

RE: Robert Morris
I was not sure how the redshirt worked. It seemed like playing him today would have killed it but I wasnt 100% on that. The added depth is nice, but I agree to me it seems like that means Walton's injury is quite serious.

Coletrane only played one game so far so I think he can still get a redshirt.

The only way Coletrane could redshirt anymore is if he were to have a season ending injury before playing 6 games and the halfway point of the season.

For football the rules have been changed that a player can play in four games, but in basketball I believe once you play at all you lose the ability to redshirt with the exception of a medical redshirt.

RE: Robert Morris
If lee can't come back I am okay with him losing his eligibility as there are a lot of games left this season.

RE: Robert Morris
Lee continues to be described as a "game time" shoulder injury. He's not in any braces, slings etc.

The bigger concern is Walton. His wrist injury is a pretty bad one. We are going to be without him for a while.

I believe that is correct. Once you set foot on the court in a game, only redshirt left is medical, with the limitations you cited. Good luck finding that anywhere on the NCAA site though....

RE: Robert Morris
The NCAA D1 rules are at http://www.ncaapublications.com/productd...s/D119.pdf
Some of the relevant sections:
12.8 - student can't compete more than 4 seasons
12.8.1 - student has 5 years to complete four seasons
12.8.3 - Any competition, regardless of time, during a season is counted as a season
12.8.3.1.4 Preseason exhibitions/preseason practice scrimmages are not couted (so had he not played during the regular season, it would have been okay for Coletrane to play against Clarion, but once he entered the game against Robert Morris, that counts as a season - unless a hardship waiver applies)
12.8.4 Hardship waiver - used to get an additional year
hardship is injury or illness that meets the following
a) occurs during four season of competition or after first day of senior year of HS (e.g. I believe Fouch's first injury happened prior to his entering Drexel, it was at least before the season)
b) occurs prior to first competition in second half of season
c) for team sports occurs when student has competed in less than 30% of games
12.8.4.2 need to have appropriate documentation from physician who administered care
12.8.4.5 if you comeback in the second half of the season and get re-injured, you don't qualify for hardship
