Well OU got in. More evidence of Big 12 strength and stability. :)
Maybe. I'll believe it if they are still together in 2025.
OU and UT need an invite and your friends in Aggieland will do everything to stop a Texoma 4 invasion to the SEC.
Yes, their fans would. Their administration would cry in public and allow it in private by abstaining on their vote. 3/4's is what is needed to gain an invitation and that vote is informal and roll call in nature and is not recorded. The formal vote is always unanimous (by tradition) and only abstentions are allowed.
What presidents say and do in public is sometimes far from what they discuss and agree to in private.
It is very easy to count the votes in private, speak your mind and abstain if your vote would cost the move, abstain publicly, and then mostly truthfully to say you spoke against it, were outvoted, and so abstained on the formal vote. The fans would never ever know the whole story.
The University of Texas at Austin doesn’t need the SEC or even the B1G for that matter and viceversa. They will NEVER follow A&M to the SEC. NEVER. You can throw links and all you want but the fact remains it’s one thing is Texas and Texas A&M can go together as a package deal to (insert the conference) and another thing is if the big brother (Texas) wants to follow little brother A&M to the SEC which Texas sees as underneath themselves academically (which remember that’s the excuse they all use). Texas is not going to the SEC. Their arrogance will not let them to do so (rightly). Texas will just rule the Big XII along with Oklahoma.

You don't know. Quit acting like you do. I know how often talks have gone on. I know that most of them have simply been due diligence, but I also know not all of them have been. Message board chat, and all the nevers in the world won't inhibit what Texas does or doesn't do.
The revenue disparity and the network interest won't let this rest and they have a lot more pull than the SEC office.
