How Larry Scott and the PAC 12 are falling further behind
I came across an article the other day criticizing Larry Scott, but wasn't able to read it at the time.

I decided to Google the topic...Larry Scott, PAC 12, and Oregon Live.

Well, I've got the article on Larry Scott and it's not a rosy picture:

Left Out

It's a long article, but a lot of good information on what is currently ailing the PAC 12. There's also a second part out today that I haven't had a chance to read, but details issues with the conferences instant replay procedures.

When searching those keywords, I also found several articles from the same publication that criticize Scott.

There is trouble in Walnut Creek...err...one of San Francisco's richest neighborhoods.

If Amazon wins the bid for Fox sports. Then the PAC12 should switch some of its games to that platform. Owning a cable network isn't going to be worth much soon. The SEC should start to see a revenue drop from the network soon.

Possibly, but if the Mouse is smart it will find some way to package ESPN+ and Disney+. The challenge will be to convince the conferences to be flexible regarding the cable only stipulation for most of their games.

Honestly, I was surprised they wanted to bother creating 2 streaming services in the first place. Seems like you'd have more luck by just creating one package, but I'm not an accountant.

I have Netflix and Amazon and honestly I'd like to get rid of both but my wife is a fan of Stranger Things and previously Orange is the New Black. While others might see some benefit to this version of a la crate TV, the only thing I care about is being able to clearly watch sports programming. I think that would be a sufficient hook for me if it were bundled with Disney+.

That way they can bundle it for a "one time offer!" and make it feel like a deal when you buy both. Funny how that one time offer will come just before regular season starts to targeted demographics.

Washington State AD unhappy with perception of the league.

PAC 12 sends only one team to NY6

For those who claim revenue doesn't matter.

SEC #1 in revenue and #1 in OOC winning percentage.
B1G #2 in revenue and #3 in OOC winning percentage.
B12 #3 in revenue and #2 in OOC winning percentage.
PAC #4 in revenue and #4 in OOC winning percentage.
ACC #5 in revenue and #5 in OOC winning percentage.

So Scott wasting money may have a direct correlation to winning less.

It's something to consider.

Greg Byrne says PAC 12 didn't welcome constructive criticism

Interesting to hear the perspective of someone who was intimately familiar with the conference politics, but is now free to speak since he's no longer a part of the league.
