SBC Championship Game Runner-up to play in Cure Bowl
https://sunbeltsports.org/news/2018/11/2...-bowl.aspx

NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference announced Tuesday that the runner-up team in Saturday’s inaugural Sun Belt Football Championship Game between Appalachian State and Louisiana will play in the 2018 AutoNation Cure Bowl.

“Being able to play in the AutoNation Cure Bowl will culminate a great season by one of these fine championship teams.” said Sun Belt Conference Commissioner Karl Benson. “Since the bowl’s establishment in 2015, the Sun Belt representative has always been treated to a first-class experience and this year will be no different.

This year’s edition of the AutoNation Cure Bowl will take place on Dec. 15 at Orlando’s Camping World Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. CT and the game will air on the CBS Sports Network.

Wow. Second place gets rewarded with a prime spot with the Nobody Will Watch This Bowl. Do they even have streaming options?

Cool. Didn't like the idea of Orlando. Montgomery or Mobile then.

It’s not that hard to find CBS Sports Network. The production of that game is easily better than the crap job ESPN does with our games.

Wow what an odd decision. Maybe there's some back door dealings that we don't know about? A better opponent than a 5th place AAC team?

I enjoyed the Cure Bowl the year we went (beating UCF made it more fun). Bowl was run well, the facilities were pretty nice and the TV coverage was very good (of course you have to work to find the right channel). The players had a good time enjoying the tourist destinations. Weather was nice too!

Wow I am quite surprised by this move. I can’t imagine the DG folks in Mobile have to be happy by this

All fair points. My contention is that a lot of people under the age of 30 have cut cable in favor of ESPN+, Sling, Hulu Live TV, Netflix, etc. I'd be curious to know what the broadcast numbers are for that bowl.

As a cord cutter over 30 I would not be able to watch the game. Then again I don't have ESPN+ so I'd miss all SBC bowl games on TV.

Have no problem with the Cure if we lose Sat., I’m sure our fanbase will appreciate Orlando more than Montgomery or Mobile

Well looks like

Troy/Georgia Southern will play Buffalo or NIU in Montgomery or Mobile

I say:

Troy to DG vs Buff

GS to Gump vs NIU

Arkansas State to AZ bowl

Is this making the assumption that Buffalo beats UNI in the MAC CG and does the MAC have the tie-in with Boca Raton this year?

Many GS fans were sure we'd get this bowl but I'm kinda happy we didn't. I'm surprised they announced this early but my guess is that all of the bowls are set other then who wins or loses Saturday and we are just waiting on it to be announced.

Most of the expert pickers have Buffalo in Mobile and Ohio in Montgomery but who knows.
