Imagine we'll have to get used to this:

Memphis Homer
@MemphisHomer
39m
Brennan Marion William & Mary OC is another name that been going around for OC. He is a Norvell Guy.

Marion has P5 head coach aspirations. Id like him to stick around, but I feel his time here will be short. I do not think he is gone before his 1st game here though.

That said, IMO, Marion should be Memphis coach Norvells top choice. They both came up under the gus malzahn tree, coached together, and share similar offensive philosophies.

Mike Locksley just hired Elijah Brooks as his RB coach at UMD ... was kind of hoping Brooks would end up back at W&M at some point coaching ... he's done great stuff at Dematha

Andrews and Acitelli removed all mention of the Tribe from their Twitter handles.

I wonder who the new DC will be? I worry that it will be London's Howard DC after the coaching shakeup there. I'd love a talented, young and fiery recruiter to step in. Somebody akin to Marion on the defensive side.

I wonder if the coaches asked for their release. Defense and TEs have consistently been solid units here.

With no Andrews, should I still assume Yoder is committed?

I have a sneaky suspicion Winston October will be back at some point. Maybe not this year but I can see him doing something with our offense if Marion leaves.

No idea who would be on the short list to replace Andrews... it shouldn't be the Howard DC.

Acitelli had some Charlotte follows, but Healy's staff is pretty much set already, so, wouldn't be a move there. App State HC took his DC with him to Louisville. Drinkwitz (NC State OC) who was just named as the new App State HC yesterday is an offense guy and will need to fill his defense. Logical move if Acitelli going back to his alma mater, and/or if Andrews going. Don't think Cignetti has filled all spots at JMU, and Elon's new HC (DC promoted) is backfilling. Pure speculation. Hate losing that continuity.

They are still listed on the website.

Zidenberg had recruited Yoder for Western Illinois, so, some continuity still. Would be a negative move if Andrews tried to get Yoder to follow him somewhere else.

Aren't our current coaches getting a ton of players to follow them elsewhere from Howard?

With the timing of this, I almost have to think that either Andrews/Acitelli left on their own or that some coach(es) that London wanted became suddenly available.

If we made this move now for the Howard DC, that would be a huge disappointment.

I know that a lot of the players are going to miss Andrews. I sure hope this was his choice.

Im starting to believe that this was a planned thing to occur after the recruiting season. Both Acitelli and Andrews had been following a number of newly hired coaches all over the country for a while now. I think Yoder was made aware that Andrews was going, but I think the recruitment continued because Andrews feels W&M is a good place for him. I think Yoder's OV just confirmed things.

I'd keep my eye on FBS assistant coaches with ties to London at Richmond, UVA, or UMD. Bonus points if they can recruit areas not covered by the current staff.

No way they left on their own. You announce a new position, you don’t just strip your position from Twitter. I echo your sentiment about the Howard DC. Their defense was simply AWFUL last year. I’ve said it before, if Howard had performed as well as W&M did defensively last year, statistically, they would have finished 8-2. This would be a head scratcher.

I wished Andrews and Acitelli were kept. This is not a good move on London's part.

Well...season's change. I'm not a big fan of what's transpired over the past month. I'll just leave it at that.

Go Tribe.

I have never heard of a new coach keeping much of the old staff, I think Bud Foster was an outlier at VT, typically new Head Coach wants his guys,

Not sure why any of you thought this would be different.

It's not getting rid of Laycock's staff, it's letting most go 5 weeks ago and purging two more now. Just fire them all when you take the job.

I feel similarly. These two guys have been humping for the tribe for 5 weeks while they could have been filling a vacancy somewhere else. Just gives the optics that they were used to get past the last recruiting weekend and then sent packing.
