Timely. RU has cooled off. It’s a four pt game. Anything can happen.

It’s pretty clear that coach has told Nate that he CANNOT foul out this game.

I think we just got a look at our best defensive team. The same guys were out there for the whole comeback.

5 of 19 from 3. We are shooting like a "normal" team from 3 this season.

48% from the floor, but only 5 of 20 from 3. Still, a solid outing for a young lineup. Building for the future.

32 and 9 for Nathan.

Another game that I think we win if we are at full strength. Sure, conference play is all that counts but it is still frustrating to lose games that we could be winning.

At least all the freshmen got some good experience. I think Thornton Scott is going to drive me crazy this year with his wild pendulum swings during the game. One minute he is threading a nice pass, the next he is throwing a pass from half court into the corner and he throws it high and it goes six rows into the stands. At the end we are down by 9 with 26 seconds left and he drives the lane (and doesn't score). Hopefully he will learn from experience.

The underclassmen are gaining valuable experience and impressed me in the loss. Still need a PG who doesn't make sloppy turnovers, but it will be nice if we can run a 9 man rotation come CAA play

Teams are going to start realizing that Thornton Scott never looks to score. I have no idea why Radford kept switching on the pick and roll when he was looking to pass to Knight every single time.

I think he seems to make up his mind of where he is going to pass it before making his move, instead of relying on his vision to see where the opening is on defense

Young guys growing up but need a win to get their confidence.

Would love for Jihar to start hitting from 3 consistently

Nice to see Rowley in uniform on the bench and not in street clothes

So what kept Milon out of the game? Do we know anything more about Pierce other than "leg injury"?

Audige's stickback dunk over Knight was one of the most athletic plays ive ever seen by a Tribe player. From my vantage point, it sure seemed like he caught the rebound 12 feet off the floor and threw it down from there.

MBB - Game 5 - Radford
I watched over the internet, so maybe it wasn’t being there, but Radford appeared to me to be the best team we have played yet. I’m really looking forward to being at the game in person Saturday to get a first hand , wide angle look at these guys.

I can’t help but think that we’d have won the last two games at full strength. I really like the way this team seems to be gelling.

Daily Press reported that he injured his lower back in the Notre Dame game.

Bean, I agree, that was nice, but you really need to go back and watch the replay of the "inbounds play" dunk (I think it was against High Point). Grabs the inbounds lob pass with one hand, above the rim, and throws it down, in one motion. I rewatched it several times.

Super athletic AND the surprise factor, 04-jawdrop, as no one saw that coming.

Good things ahead for that young man. 03-thumbsup

RE: MBB - Game 5 - Radford
Good things ahead for all of the freshmen. The unique skillsets they each bring to the floor are remarkable. In the same way we talk about waiting on a game for Knight, Pierce, and Milon to be having simultaneous good nights, there will be a night that all five freshmen will be on their A game, and the wow factor will jump even more.

Radford was very, very good. We may have not yet found the 3 point shooting prowess of last year, but the defensive effort is far better than past Tribe teams. Radford simply made us pay for any momentary individual lapses.

Hate to lose, but I left Kaplan last night feeling very, very good about this team. The improvement since High Point is visible. Let's hope we continue to see more scenarios of Knight fouling out a starting center and getting the backup to four fouls trying to contain him.

Even if Pierce and Milon are not back on Saturday, I expect these guys will bring it even harder.

RE: MBB - Game 5 - Radford
It's tough to have a good shooting night from three with Pierce, Milon, and Rowley not shooting the shots. What I like most about the freshmen is that they belong. I thought that Scott had a great game finding open shooters. Williams still isn't making many shots, but last night was a huge confidence booster for him. With healthy bodies we have a true ten deep rotation. Very different from last year.

Williams and Milon, have got to pick up their defensive side, or both, may (should) lose minutes to freshmen as we hit CAA play.
