Jimmye's Last Game: Tribute Article
Ahead of this weekend's historic game, we decided to write a special piece on Jimmye.

"From 1940 to 1950, W&M boasted 44 consecutive victories against in-state competitors. Now stop and let that sink in: 44 wins against in-state schools (Virginia, Richmond, Virginia Tech, etc.). However, [after the Scandal of 1951], it’s not hyperbole to say that the program began a 30-year downward spiral. From 1952-1980, the school amassed more than 5 wins just 4 times.

That is, until Jimmye Laycock arrived in 1980."

Respects from Delaware!

Jimmye always represented William & Mary with class and dignity.
He was very well respected around the CAA and nationally.
Best of luck to Coach Laycock in his retirement.

Only 4 posts in 15 years -- and this is one of them. A classy way to make them count!! Thanks!
