2019-20 Men's Basketball Roster
This is updated to reflect that Millora-Brown transferred out of Rice and Tommy McCarthy and Malik Ondigo transferred into Rice. With Ondigo transferring in, it seems like Addison Owen is not on scholarship this season. As others have noted, my PG/SG divisions below are debatable.

Class years below are for next year (scholarships denoted in parenthesis):
Seniors (4): Ako Adams, Robert Martin, Tim Harrison, Tommy McCarthy (RS), Addison Owen (walk-on)
Juniors (2): Josh Parrish (RS), Malik Ondigo (Tr, sitting out 2019-20)
Sophomores (4): Payton Moore, Chris Mullins, Trey Murphy III, Drew Peterson
Freshmen (3): Zach Chrisler, Max Fiedler, Quincy Olivari, Reed Myers (PWO), Ben Moffat (PWO)
Open scholarships (0)

So the coaches have at least 1 more scholarship to use in 2019, barring transfers. With 3 seniors and 3 signed freshmen, no reason for the staff to prioritize a grad transfer over a true freshman.

If you prefer, here is the breakdown by position:
PG (4) - Ako Adams, Payton Moore, Quincy Olivari, Tommy McCarthy, Reed Myers (PWO)
SG (3) - Josh Parrish, Chris Mullins, Trey Murphy
SF (2) - Robert Martin, Drew Peterson, Ben Moffat (PWO)
PF/C (3) - Tim Harrison, Zach Crisler, Max Fiedler, Malik Ondigo

RE: 2019-20 Men's Basketball Roster
My one big concern is this staff's weird tendency of basically not targeting true PGs. I know we've offered a bunch in the 2020 class, but I'd love to see us go after a smaller, quick guard in the mold of Max Guercy for our last 2019 spot (assuming Deng commits elsewhere). Get us that guy who can beat his man 1v1 and get into the paint consistently.

He is. Probably just for this year.

Mullins while not a true PG looks very capable of doing what you want.

I agree on Mullins. He could develop into a really good point guard. I don’t know how many games we win this year. But if this group sticks together, they’ll win plenty of games over four years.

I updated this to reflect QMB transferring out and Tommy McCarthy transferring in.
