Yeah but Davidson has a winners mentality and they played extremely hard. They will be tough to beat.

I would much rather win tomorrow then trying to get one at their place.

Agreed.

I think we win this game.

As long as we come out with the mentality that this one is important, I think we will play and match up well.

It's not like we're a big underdog. (We would have been last year to them) Vegas has us as -1

We are injured. Occeus, Boursiqout, and now Pusica, though at least hes in and out. But clearly he is not playing well at all this game.

Down 24-18 to Davidson. It hurts because I know we can be better than this.

28-28 at half. Pusica with a couple nice assists and a layup at the buzzer. His only 2 points so far. Neither team hitting a lot of shots. I thought Davidson were getting open more often on offense at the start of the half but our D has stepped it up a bit.

There he is!

But now we are down early in the 2nd. I hate to say it but Pusica has to come out. 3 really bad turnovers to start the half for him other than the alley oop pass. Hes struggling to shoot and pass.

Davidson is only leading by 7 because of our turnovers.

We are getting wrecked now. Pusica a turnover machine.

This game has gotten out of hand. I dont know what to think. I want to blame injuries, but we still shouldnt be getting run over by Davidson

RE: Charleston Classic - 3 Games
We’re starting to get bit by the injury bug ... that could derail the season we’re hoping for.

Vasa’s wrist injury could be a nagging problem all season, as most wrist injuries tend to be.

We really need Shawn to get back. We’re really missing his defense, athleticism and 3-point shooting.

The injuries could hurt our chances to to get more key OOC wins.

From the Boston Globe’s Steve Hewitt on NU hoops ...

Walters settles in

At first, he wasn’t sure, but it was around September when Shaquille Walters, who transferred from Santa Clara to Northeastern this season, expressed an interest to play immediately. He talked to coach Bill Coen, who was deliberate in making sure Walters assessed all the factors in his decision.

Walters was certain he wanted to play, but it requires a process. NCAA rules state transfers must sit out a year at their new school before playing, but exceptions are made. Northeastern’s compliance office applied for a waiver for Walters, and last Tuesday, the Huskies received good news. The waiver was granted, and Walters is eligible to play this season.

The circumstances that allowed Walters to be granted eligibility are confidential, but Coen assured that “if anyone heard the facts of the story, I don’t think anybody would disagree with the ruling.

We’re just so grateful that the NCAA agreed with us that he should be allowed to play immediately.”

Walters, a 6-foot-6 sophomore guard from London, made his debut in Northeastern’s win against Alabama last Thursday and made an impact off the bench. Coen loves his potential.

“He’s got tremendous upside, he’s got size, length, athleticism, and most of all, coachability,” Coen said. “He wants to be a good player, he allows you to coach him, and I think with that type of attitude and the type of effort he puts in, we couldn’t be more excited about him.”

Stuck in limbo

Shawn Occeus and Max Boursiquot, both starters for Northeastern last season, remain out with injuries, and their returns are unclear.

Coen was more optimistic about Occeus, last season’s Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Year who suffered an ankle sprain in practice the day before this season’s opener against Boston University. Boursiquot is dealing with a nagging hip injury.
