Mr. Ribe and I will be there! Once the schedule came out, we decided to make the trip to UIC and ND. We look forward to being with the Chicago alums.

UIC has led the entire game against Duquesne. 66-53 with 7 minutes to go. Makes a difference when you take a month to prepare for a team vs. having one day.

Radford beat UIC. Sure don't want to see us be the only team to come out null in this series. Need to step their game up alot on Thursday.

Wow, Duquesne came back and beat UIC in OT, 89-88.

So, Thursday will be UIC's last chance to get a win in the Gotham. Need to close that door.

Yeah, you would have thought they would have, at least, picked a weekend contest. (??)

UIC will play their three upperclass guards, 5'11, 6'2", 6'4", essentially the full game. They are athletic and good. I see Owens and Audige getting a lot of minutes to help slow them down, as Williams and Milon are not good enough defensively. On the other hand, these same guards allowed Duquesne's freshman PG to go off for 32 pts against them. Again, Knight has got to play up to his capabilities, as UIC is thin inside and starts a freshman center (who Pepperdine didn't find a schollie for the same day Harvey visited them.) I hope Pierce will have a monster game in front of family and friends. I fully expect a better game from us with UIC not having the time to prepare, like Duquesne did. I think our backdoor cuts will be in full swing and open, if we trust the offense. Time to see us get back to being a great passing team, and minimizing turnovers (which their guards will convert.)

UIC lost in the championship game of the CIT last March against Northern Colorado. Been a tough 0-3 start for them on the road in the Gotham. We need to play much harder for 40 mins, and get this win. This is their first home game, so, expect them to be better than they have been.

Must hit free throws. UIC plays physical and loves to foul if beaten.

Ironically, UIC's HC was the Associate HC at Indiana during Boatner's first year there as a graduate assistant.

This was one of my main takeaways from the Duquesne game. When things started going south, during that extended second half run for the Dukes, we completely let go of our team concept and tried to go way too often to the one on one attack that does not work well for us (unless it is a fast break, we do not need possessions with 1 or fewer passes before a shot). It was disappointing that it was the upper-classmen that were at fault for that. We HAVE to play team basketball to have a good offense.

The other takeaway was, while we are going to be a better defensive team, we are not very far along on that journey yet. We will need to play better defense on Thursday night.

UIC is a 1.5 pt favorite and 60.1% predictor to win per ESPN.

Well, our flight was canceled at the last minute. We will miss the game tonight but head to South Bend tomorrow.

If that's the case, the entire arena is Pierce family and friends. It doesn't look like a lot more than 250 people there.
