By my reading of this... a 3 way tie for the division would come down to who was ranked highest in the College Football playoff rankings after this weekend. If we beat UCF AND move past them in the playoff rankings, we will win a 3 way tie. If we beat them and somehow stay behind them, we will not.

I'm guilty there of relying on Wiki. It misplaced overall winning percentage, which in actuality is way down the list just above the coin flip. You're right it will be the final CFP ranking. Hopefully a win would be enough to leapfrog them. Regardless, I can't wait until Saturday!!

Ditto. I guess that's what I get for trusting wiki. Sorry to anybody I may have misled but in my defense I did warn that it was from wiki in my op of the criteria along with other caveats.

Specifically not the final college football playoff ranking. It would be next weeks college football playoff ranking.

Huh? Why would they do the ranking a week before the season ends?

So they aren't waiting until Tuesday to know who is hosting the conference championship.

All good. I was going with it. Hey, it sounded legit. ::shrug::

Seems like there's a very VERY good chance that UCF is going to win any tiebreaker scenario.

I can't see them dropping enough and/ or us rising enough to pass them in the CFP rankings. I suppose anything is possible tho considering how much they seemingly hate to give AAC's any love. They just might drop them like 15 spots.....just cuz.

Gotta say....i do kinda want an AAC school in a NY6 game. UC first and foremost, however if not....UCF all day.

If that happens, we finish 11-1, and go to whatever the current equivalent is to the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. And Fickell starts send out resumes as fast as he can.

Fickell only applies to jobs that his wife agrees to.

Bingo.
Both of them are from Ohio and want to stay in Ohio and near family.
The best college football job in Ohio is tOSU.
The second best football job in Ohio is UC.
Guessing Fick only leaves for tOSU.

Lucky for us, they don't want him. I don't foresee Fickell wanting to go anywhere anytime soon. It's not hard to win in Cincinnati, he'll be a god around here, and he'll make a good living too. We like to win, but we aren't rabid dogs like some schools. We appreciate what we have. It's a good spot.

I can confirm to$u does not want him as HC. A neighbors son in law is Assoc, AD at to$u and he told me Fick will not get the job.

Now of course if new AD etc. things could change,

agree

Do you think he would leave for a close to home B1G school such as Mich, Mich St or Wisc, ie, some of the better programs in the B1G? Would he actually go to a michigan school? i dont' knowl. I hope he stays for a LONG time.

I think the bigger key to him staying and being successful here is being able to afford the same assistant coaches annually which takes a financial commitment from UC. If he can stay and keep his staff in place (aside from one of them getting a hc job promo) that will be the key to him being successful and happy at UC imo
