RE: Basketball Non-Conf Games Thread
I'm counting 5 PAC-12 teams in top 60 and 6 in top 100(NET Rankings). PAC-12 is definitely having a down year compared to what we're accustomed too. There may not be any great teams, but they will likely have 3-4 teams good enough when it's all said and done that will make the tourney.

Plus ...
ACC at least 8 teams
Big Ten looks like 7-8
Big 12 another 7
SEC 6
On and on ... the spots fill up fast and leaving the 1-bid leagues ... with one bid.

Rockets(12-1) takes down a good Penn(10-3) team, 77-45.

Was there. It was a back-and-forth game for the first 16 minutes, then the Rockets closed the first half with really solid play to build a 7 point lead, and they just owned the first 12 minutes of the second half, offensively & defensively; the game was over at the 8 minute mark.
And yes, MAC brethren—I used “defensively” as a positive for a Toledo team. And most of this season that’s been a very surprising but noticeable positive change in this Rocket team over more recent ones.

RE: Basketball Non-Conf Games Thread
BSU finished off the non-con at 9-4 with a 116-57 thumping of the last place D1 team in the KenPom, Delaware State. BSU started on a 31-2 run before heading into the half at 61-17. Records set for highest point total in Worthen Arena history, as well as highest point total against a D1 foe. Seven finished in double figures, led by Josh Thompson's 19. Some good (solid wins against MVC competition) and some bad (loss to Evansville, unimpressive outings against the P5 schools) in this non-con, but feeling pretty positive overall outside of the ongoing injury of Hazen (who was starting at the beginning of the season). Beginning to think he's out for the season, and that thins the frontcourt a bit. Should know where they stand in the first four games of the MAC...

Cards had 8 in double figures. 9th player had 8 points. They also had their 2nd 31 consecutive point run of the season.
Hazen is definitely not out for the season. Will be back sooner than later in all likelihood. Also 2 of the 3 losses to power 5 schools were less than 10 points. And both of those teams were ranked in the top 25.

yeah, they were by 9 points so technically you are correct. but it's not like ball state went to the wire with purdue or va tech. there were beaten fairly soundly in those games. the indiana state win looks better now and likely 1 or 2 of the other valley wins will look good in 2 months.
toledo got lucky with penn having 1 regular out and a starter tweak an ankle in the 1st half and spend the rest of the game w an ice pack on it. the quakers were worn down by a pretty deep toledo team that unlike past ones has good defenders coming off the bench.
speaking of the ivy princteton went into arizona st and snuck out with a 1 point. elsewhere, texas southern won big at texas am, western kentucky got wisconsin at home at beat them by 10. gardner webb won at wake forest. FIU won at illinois. santa clara took out wash st and ucla lost to another mid major. lots of P% teams losing to the mid majors this year.

I think you mean FAU. FIU is not a threat to beat any P5 teams, not even Illinois.

Ball State @ Toledo is going to be one heck of an opener.
