The only way we end this season in any sort of a decent mood involves winning out, beating Troy or App in the CCG, and then winning the bowl.
Anything less than a conference title is an abject failure of a season on our end.
What posters like the Coastal fan don't know is that we State fans judge this team on preseason expectations and against the backdrop of great teams from the past. When we say the team is poor, that is not saying its poor versus the likes of CCU. I think he thought we were saying our team is bad when no, it isn't. It may not be as good vs the State teams of recent years but not bad as if we can't beat Coastal rear ends by 30. In other words, he misunderstood our message. We owe him an apology for giving him hope that his team could beat us.
No. I think your team is poor because of how they've performed all season.
You don't have a very good team. The truth is, our program is an absolute dumpster fire right now for a lot of reasons.
I'm not sure what else you want me to say. We are WAYYYYY worse than Ark State and it showed last night. But you guys aren't a very good team.
It just is what it is. And I hope last night was a catylst for some real changes in leadership.
If you think that I'm just some rogue in this, go over to Coastalfans and read what our fans are saying. The most ardent supporters of our coaching staff are now saying there need to be changes.
We did not just lose. We got hammer stomped...at home...and then picked a fight and started slamming players to the ground 10 seconds after the whistle.
It was one of the most embarrassing displays of Coastal football I've ever witnessed and I've been following the program since 2007.
I see what you are saying, but if we're at our best, we should be able to beat Coastal by at least 3 TD's in Conway. I do not think we are at our best by far, but the result matched expectations for the first time all season on this end.

Why would we be in a better mood.
The coaches picked us to win the conference, virtually every pre-season publication tabbed AState to win more games than will be won in regular season even if we win out.
back-to-back wins put us in a better mood...thought it might work for y'all as well.
Yes, but both our programs beat pretty awful teams to get our back to back wins. You guys will be back to being unhappy when you play Houston in a couple weeks. I think the difference is you guys are really hitting your first minor hiccup in about 3 years. We're on like a 3 year long hiccup.

we also return everyone with the only exception being Henderson may go pro...so that leaves hope for improvement next season...I seem to remember most of your kids being Sr's

just looked for myself...
your QB...3 of your 4 best backs...1 of your 2 best WRs...22 total seniors
that's losing a lot of talent.

stAte's best back is Murray, a freshman. stAte's best WR is arguably Dahu Green, who will be back. stAte's 2nd best WR is McKinnis or Merritt - Merritt will be back.
Losing Hansen will hurt, but overall talent on offense will be fine.
