Nothing against our backups I know they were put in a difficult situation and they played their best. But if we play like that we aren’t beating anyone in this league. We couldn’t even get a snap count without a false start. I think we had more interceptions than completions to wide open screen passes. And when they know we can’t throw, the run was less effective too. Seemed like when the defense realized our offense couldn’t do anything they gave up too. I hope that was a one week fluke but wow.

Considered dropping App out of the top three altogether but I'll reserve judgement until we learn more about Zac Thomas' status and see how they bounce back this weekend. Prepare all you want but it is difficult to be ready to lose your starting quarterback three snaps into a game with nobody behind him who's played outside of garbage time. The team clearly didn't adjust well, everyone else tried to do too much and the result was the second and third-team quarterbacks combining for four turnovers.

Hate to see injuries disrupt a season but without Jalin Moore, this offense is not the same. Darrynton Evans is a very good player and he's a home run threat but he just doesn't wear a defense down like Jalin. Without Thomas to make the defense respect the pass, he's going to struggle against a stacked box.

I hope Zac makes it back full-strength but it's certainly not worth risking a kid's long-term health after a concussion. The GS defense is as good as any they'll see the rest of the way and with time to adjust, the offense would probably look better than it did on Thursday but I could see another loss or two if Zac is sidelined.

1. Georgia Southern (+1) - Hard to believe GS has climbed to #1 but they clearly have the best resume now through week 9.
2. Troy (+1) Good dominating bounce-back over USA after whatever that was two weeks ago vs. Liberty.
3. App State (-2) - Beaten pretty thoroughly by GS. Has there been any news on the Thomas injury? Looked like a different offense without him.
4. Coastal (+2) - Think I have them ranked higher than anyone else. Good road win and a two game winning streak. Take out ULM and they have one of the better resumes in the league so far.
5. ULM (-) - Bye. Tied atop the west.
6. Louisiana (+1) - Huge win over A-State to tie them with ULM atop the west. Big matchup with Troy this week.
7. Arkansas State (-3) - This week's big loser. After a nice start to the season they've lost 3 of 4 and tumbled down the standings.
8. Texas State (+2) - Bobcats get win #2 and will try for conference win #1 at GSU next week.
9. Georgia State (-1) - Panthers have now lost 3 straight and 6 of 7. Look to rebound vs. TXST next week.
10. South Alabama (-1) - Jags haven't won an FBS game in a month and a half.

BTW: 8th in BB is still better than dead last in FB (3 years running).
