RE: Bowl Talk 2018
How many fans do we think we would get at the quick lane lubber bowl on December 26th with a 515 pm kickoff?

I would hope for 20,000 but anything over 10,000 I think would be adequate. 2007 CMU and purdue packed Ford Field with 50,000 and in 2016 WMU Packed it for the mac championship

I would expect that there would be at least 10k EMU fans plus all of the other locals that buy tickets would likely be rooting for EMU. Having a local team in the game may help sell more tickets to people that otherwise would not be interested. And if the game involves another Regional team like Indiana then that drives up attendance even more. I would guess 30k total for EMU v Indiana. That's not bad. The only losers in having Eastern in that game would be the hotels.

Yes, please!

This would be the ideal game with the ideal opponent - Indiana. A chance to beat another B1G team, and a chance to go 3-0 vs teams from Indiana this year.

IU's coach was CC's DC at Drake

IU has improved but probably is not bowl eligible this year

IU moved the ball against the Michigan D better than anyone this year. Very impressive. True freshman RB had a huge day. Very athletic QB ran for a lot of first downs. Completed a lot of crossing routes underneath. Neathery would have had his hands full.

One of the biggest differences in the Michigan offense this year is the ability of Patterson to run the zone read play. 9 carries for 68 yards against IU, and almost every carry was for a 1st down. Such a difference making play for any team.

Purdue at Indiana next weekend. Two 5-6 teams. Winner goes to a bowl, loser is done.

I saw a different projection that has us rematched up with San Diego State.

You know who would be great to play in the Quick Lane bowl? Michigan State.

These seem like the two logical choices. I saw one projection that had Miami OH in Det. They're not even Bowl eligible but might get there this week. I doubt Detroit's going to take a 6-6 team that doesn't have a local flavor to it.

I agree.

Quick Lane will trade with another bowl to get a MAC team with local following...

Took the liberty to do a little browsing at the latest bowl predictions as of this morning. Moral of the story: nothing is decided, yet.

CBS Sports: Camellia Bowl (Dec. 15): EMU vs. Troy
SBNATION: Camellia Bowl (Dec. 15): EMU vs. App. State
Sportingnews.com: Boca Raton Bowl (Dec. 18): EMU vs. FAU
Sports Illustrated: Frisco Bowl (Dec. 19): EMU vs. Temple
Orlando Sentinel: Idaho Potato Bowl (Dec 21): EMU vs. San Diego State
ESPN: Camellia Bowl: EMU vs. App State OR Quick Lane Bowl: EMU vs. Boston College

I suggest we do thinks the 'scientific' way.

Take 6 bowls, assign each a number, and roll a die.

That might be as good as any...

That said, I think there might be sentiment to give EMU a shot at the Quick Lane Bowl if it is open.

That would be a feel good story for EMU and Detroit.
