Does anyone have a summary? What is this I hear of him basically tanking it in with 6 minutes to go? Sounds Tubbervilleish. I hope he doesn't think this is like the Patriots sitting starters in week 17 after wrapping up a bye. Winning the conference is important to UC fans, basically all we have to look forward to.

We got killed on the glass which gave great shooters too many chances and eventually the dam broke.

Only reference I heard postgame was "Darren was beat-up, not making rotations, so I took him out because I didn't want taking anymore punishment. Slight reference to not being able to come-back on a great shooting team by giving them too many second chances. Not quoted but what I remember. Radio postgame

That's basically what I heard he pulled Jarron because he was gassed and not getting out on defensive rotations.
Mick also said the game was already lost in the first half.
Mick is right. We lost the game when we failed to take advantage of the double bonus for the last eight minutes of the first half. We had to drive the stake in then. Makes me wonder if we should have left Brooks in with his two fouls then.
I almost sort of get what he is saying when I hear it in context, but still, why say it? Sometimes I just think he has a PR issues with quotes like this. Don't ever tell your fans you threw in the towel at home on senior day with conference on the line and 6 minutes to go.

Yep. So much for "fight to the finish…never give in."
I know Mick gets alot of cover from the media and fans still, but I would like to understand the difference between what Mick is saying and TT punting at BYU? In some ways because of what was at stake I would say it was even worse.
Isn't the first thing you learn in Coaching 101 to never give up? At least not announce it to your team and at the poat game preas conference.

Totally different sports. Cats still have a chance to win in the post season. We see this at the pro level all the time.
I am not sure even which thread to post this in, so I am just going to post it here.
Frankly, UC basketball discussion just bores me. We've had the same discourse for at least a decade. One side is locked in to their side of things, the other side is locked into theirs. There is no changing hearts and minds.
Unlike football, discussing recruiting for UC hoops is pretty meaningless. 90% of the names that come up never come here. Mick keeps it pretty close to the vest, he'll recruit somebody under the radar that will fit his program--
Post game interviews? Again, one side will think everything that comes out of his mouth is brilliant, the other side will criticize it all.
As I said, I am pretty much bored with the discussion... with the exception of this thread I am basically done talking about the coaching, game threads, post game interviews, recruiting, etc.

I agree, I am basically on the verge of where you are at. Most of my family and friends that I grew up with rooting for UC have largely joined your apathy and just really aren't that interested in what Mick has going on right now. Some casual interest at times, but not close to what it used to be. It's not worth the inestment of time and energy when the outcome is so predictable.
