I don't know that I fully buy into this mindset. I feel like the Bahamas last year was for the players. This year should be a fun, easily accessible bowl game against an exciting opponent so that all the fans that have pledged money, bought tickets, hauled friends and coworkers to games, etc can do what normal FBS teams do and go enjoy a bowl game in an exciting place.

Versus Auburn in the Birmingham Bowl would be funny.

Yep, This is why im against that type of match up in a bowl or even in home/BJCC games in basketball against them. Doesn’t benefit us.

Well, season ticket holders are already getting forms to commit to tickets to various bowls.
If you want your voice to be heard in regards to where you want your team to play, there is an avenue to voice your opinion

It would mean that we tanked at the end of the season.

Yeah just got my bowl request form, but I think I'll wait until we announce where we're going. I'll avoid the $15 application fee and know 100% sure if I can make it to the bowl. Never know what can come up.

My best guest in order of what I think will happen:

1. – Boca Raton Bowl vs MAC Tuesday, Dec. 19.
2. - Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla vs. American Athletic Thu., Dec. 21
3. - Heart of Dallas Bowl vs Big 12 Tue., Dec. 26
4. - (Independence, Bham, name a bowl) vs a P5 opponent after a deal is cut.
5. – Gildan New Mexico Bowl vs. Mountain West Sat., Dec. 16
6. - NO Bowl vs Sun Belt. I just don't think we will screw basketball but in play. Sat., Dec. 16

I just don't see us playing in Hawaii or Bahamas.

I feel pretty good that we will play in Boca or Tampa but I won't rule out Clark taking a shot at a P5 program in Dallas or cutting a deal to swap opponents with another league but my money is on Boca if we win C-USA if we lose in Championship game to FIU we will be Tampa or Dallas. If we lose to MTSU in Champ game we will be in Boca if MTSU does not chose. I plan on win C-USA c-USA and a I predict. Boca. I just don;t see us screwing Basketball taking the NO bowl unless we have no other choice and I think we will.

I'm reserving my tickets Friday.

Especially if we play in the NO Bowl. I'll be at the bowl game too.

AB, what’s the draw of selecting Boca over Tampa and Dallas if you’re the champs? South Florida is great (and I won’t complain!), but the others provide a better opponent. On the other hand, we’re still looking for a bowl win as a program.

I didn't send in anything for the bowl request form last year, but had no problem buying tickets (on the 50-yard line, in fact) for the Bahamas Bowl once it was announced. And I have no intention of doing the bowl application in advance this year either, but if we end up playing in Boca, Tampa, Dallas or Shreveport, we will be there. (Can't do New Orleans or Albuquerque.) I think those six are our only real bowl options--barring a collapse of UCF/Fresno/Houston, et al., and us making a run so that the cartel has to allow us to play with the big boys.

The odds are low, but they're still better than the odds were of UAB playing football at all right now.

I'm still holding out for a Peach Bowl win over bammer. Oh no! Where will Ray and Wes sit?

Preordering is also a way of gauging fan interest. May help determine which bowl they choose. If overall interest is low, we can’t complain if they fly off to another island.

Yes. My guess is that very few people filled them out, giving the impression that very few fans would attend, regardless of location.

I want the Dallas Bowl against at P5 opponent! And it’s the day after Christmas so I won’t have to use vacation time at work to attend.

I didn’t realize that Dallas is on 12/26 at 12:30. That would be tough for us to go. Lets cut a deal and go to the Birmingham Bowl and play Memphis!
