We held out quite a few people that were dinged up to get them rested for Thursday. That was one reason we gave up some points on defense. We were missing a few key starters.

This is true I certainly saw a lot new faces and heard a lot of new names called on the broadcast.

I also think that we didn't do ourselves any favors on those last two NMSU touchdown drives since both of them were set up or kept alive because of penalties.

The thing is, Lunsford has more talent (especially on defense) than Billy Napier and is a successor to a much worse head coach.

But yeah, if we go 9-3 or better he'll probably get it even if UL wins the West.
