Here's a guide put out by the athletic department. I'll post google map pin drops below for the lots that they're talking about since you probably are familiar with them by name. You should plan on parking at the Coliseum Lot unless somehow it is full, then I'd try the Mill Street Lot.
Coliseum Lot
Also known as the Strahan Lot or general tailgating lot. Don't worry about the parking sticker signs, no parking sticker needed on game day. It opens at 3pm, $10 per spot. You'll see a lot of Texas State students tailgating. You'll need to enter from Aquarena Springs drive going east bound, don't take the overpass. You'll see signs.
Mill Street Lot
Also known as Bobcat Village lot. Free. Open all day. Don't worry about the signs, no parking sticker needed on game day. There probably won't be a lot of tailgating over there for this game.
Welcome to San Marcos. If you're looking for restaurants, I'd recommend:
Tex-Mex: Herbert's
Burgers: Tap Room
Real BBQ: Hays County BBQ
Nice: Root Cellar
Kolaches: Dos Gatos
Breakfast Tacos: Loli's

Texas received a lot of Czech immigrants in the 1800s. There are almost 100 towns with Czech names/heritage.
And they're really good. Who wouldn't be obsessed with a kolache after having a really good one?

We ate Tap Room burgers today, Friday, for lunch; we had Kent Black’s BBQ yesterday for lunch yum.
And the manager & Kai at the Comfort Suites took great care of us.
We enjoyed the coca-cola/bud light tailgates & got invited into the pregame social at the pavilion.
We'll definitely be back we had a blast other than the scare on the field during the game lol.
