True. But this signing makes me so happy! Love has promise, but I don’t think it’s realistic to expect 30 minutes a game from him. Axel is a legitimate post, and Ballard can still contribute too.

Looks like Pacheco will be at the 4.

Cow, I will give you a high five for that!

79, you get one too. You are so on top of recruiting it is amazing!

Anyway, I am giving Murphy a huge high five also. How on earth did he coax not one but two P5 7-footers to come here. I realize they were bench warmers in P5 but still- will likely be close to the top of the MAC!

He does not Steve. Immediate eligibility, one year remaining.

Thanks buddy! High fives all around!

Still one scholarship remaining. Probably Ballard, but you never know right?

Murphy's a master recruiter!!!!! Gets two 7 footers from 2 P5 schools, pulls a great transfer who can play from Ann Arbor, and gets a JUCO guard who can fill it up.......Folks, he's on a 1 year contract!!!!!!! Jerry Weaver, I hope he wins 20 games this season! We need a great offensive minded associate coach!

Axel’s juco highlight tape. Not super athletic, but decent footwork, and he’s a legit 7-footer who will be a defensive presence.

Do the best ya can with what ya got!

So does this mean we're done with 2020 with two open scholies?

I hope not, but it doesn’t sound encouraging.

However, just to keep the flame alive, here are the PFs and Cs I’ve scouted who are still available:

Centers
-EJ Datcher, Miss State
-Michael Cage Jr., Pepperdine
-Courtese Cooper, LSU
-Axel Okongo, Missouri

Power Forwards
-Kristian Lafayette, Louisiana
-Antoine Smith Jr, Incarnate Word
-Ben Uloko, Houston Baptist

Let’s get one of these guys, give Ballard a scholarship, and get after it.

We sign Axel Okongo 7'0 240 Sr from Missouri

Here’s another article on Axel Okongo. Sounds like a defensive specialist. He’ll be awesome depth for Love.

First thing I noticed was how well he runs the floor. Murphy will like that.

Decent feet, as you mentioned. Seems like he has good hands too, which is always a question mark for centers at our level. He won’t make anyone forget Boubacar, but he should hold down the middle of the zone if he catches on quick. .

Workouts for both the men's and womens were authorized last Monday the 20th.

Also Riley's Hunter's and Toure's stats were underwhelming when they transferred here. They all make contributions and improved from where they came from.

Maybe lightening will strike twice this coming year with Love III and Okongo.

Strange as it seems, sadness to gladness, as we have filled all of our recruiting needs.

Lot of new talent, including Gibson.

Checked Blue Ribbon Yearbook.

Axel gets good marks for running the floor and his defense according to his Missouri coach.

He 'll fit right in

Murphy will have 7 scholarships to replace after this year. 8 if he is saving one instead of giving it to Ballard or somehow.

Seems to have solid instincts in the open floor, but choppy fundamentals in pnr, hands, post moves etc.

Should be a lot better with better players though!
