And not much to shear it until it reaches Central Georgia.

I’m probably headed down to PC to help my parents clean up later this week.

I obviously hope that there will be no major problems at home but I'm doubly glad to be sitting in a hotel in San Marcos right now.

Prayers for you and everyone in the path. Yes, it is good to be out of harm’s way but it’s hard not being there as well. I was 2500 miles from home when Florence moved through so I can relate.

Entered far southwest Ga at cat 3. Still cat 1 near Albany.

RE: OT; Tropical Storm/Hurricane Michael
It actually apparently went through rapid deepening (instead of rapid intensification) as it was approaching landfall, so it actually strengthened somewhat OVER land.

A Hurricane Hunter recorded 158mph winds after landfall which would be a Cat 5 storm. It may get reclassified when all the data is analyzed.

The way it strengthened as it approached the coast is apparently what allowed it to maintain structure and of course maintain all that power as it moved inland.

It's starting to get bumpy in middle Georgia right now.

I know it seems cliche and insincere, but I hope you all stay safe and your properties remain the way they were this time last week. If anyone needs anything, please let me know.

Hope your parents’ house faired better than my parents’ house did. Thank God they weren’t there and thank God for insurance.

12,000 homes without power in my local area and that's not counting Georgia Power customers who make up 1/2 the county so I'm sure that number is a lot higher. Looks like I have a lot of small limbs down but overall we fared well at my house. I hope and pray everyone else in the path is also safe.

Hope everyone is ok - a Cat 4/5 is no joke, and having maintain Cat 1 through Central Georgia is incredible.
