This Independence Bowl has backup agreements with the AAC and CUSA, if the SEC or ACC can't fill slots.

Then they must believe the AAC and CUSA won’t be able to fulfill all their bowl spots.

I would think that an App v South Florida matchup might be pretty entertaining. What say Bull Nation?

Bowls can trade (ie. ESPN can tell bowls to trade).
My bet is the Sun Belt is going to produce at least two, maybe three 10 game winners. CUSA will produce one, maybe two, MAC might produce one.
ESPN will likely push to get one of our 10 game winners vs the MAC champ (presumably a 9-10 game winner) in Mobile and will work some sort of deal to pit our champion against CUSA champ, someplace. Barring a pair of stumbles, the Access slot is between AAC and MWC this year so you may be looking at ESPN flipping some schools around.

Those were Artemis personal projections, not those of a particular website.

CUSA has as good a shot to get the Access bowl as AAC and MWC. From what I've witnessed, it doesn't matter if a G5 team has 10 wins or 7, the try to put an eligible team that will bring fans. Especially the Louisiana bowls.

What CUSA team will get that slot over UCF or Boise? UNT if they go undefeated?

It's all hypothetical at this point, but UNT does have a good shot if they keep beating teams the way they are. Boise St got whipped by OK St, who got destroyed by a really good TX Tech. If UNT wins out, then it'll be between them and UCF, assuming UCF wins out.
I think this weekend we'll learn more about UNT, when they play LA Tech.
My only point was the Access bowl just isn't between AAC and MWC at this point, CUSA does have a team that hasn't lost and looks really good right now. That said, SBC has some great teams this season as well.

South will never play at the Dollar General Bowl. It came up when discussing about South's new stadium. Being they won't consider South, we would charge them rent and they weren't happy. I think Dollar General will stay at Ladd.
