Ahhhhh, ok that explains why I didn't get the reference. I think that was probably the one thing on TV I wasn't able to watch as a kid. Well.. that kind of ruins the old timers joke.

There is something very creepy about playing football at Richmond. It just does not feel right.[/i]

I will be glad when next weekend is over.

I can’t believe spiderfather came into our lives, teased us and then left us hung out to dry. It just isn’t the same without him asking simple questions on their boards to very rude responses.

I believe this is Heusmann's first experience with JMU coming to UR. I wonder if he got the memo about not scheduling official visits this weekend?

Some game notes from Stony Brook's 36-10 victory over richmond.

Quote:Stony Brook (3-1, 1-0 CAA) piled up 335 yards on the ground and pulled away for a 36-10 victory over Richmond (2-2, 0-1 CAA) to open CAA play. Running backs Jordan Gowins and Donald Liotine topped the 100-yard mark for the third straight game. Gowins tallied a career-high 192 yards and two fourth-quarter TD's, while Liotine added 133 yards. Quarterback Joe Carbone threw for 147 yards and a pair of scores.

Does that look familiar to anyone? Multiple running backs and a solid (not great) QB performance?

Basically, Richmond is facing Stony Brook 2.0

What sucks for both WM and UR right now having to play us early in the season is they haven't had as much time to work out their kinks. We're a much more well oiled machine then them right now, so their early season miscues only hurt them even more in rivalry games.

We have a favorable schedule this year with most of our toughest games occurring earlier in the season.

Our Offensive stats are deflated and Defense stats inflated because of that one quarter game. It's going to take several weeks for that to make any sense.

Yes, but I think it's negatively impacting the offensive stats even more so. Many teams nationwide have gaudy offensive numbers by playing cupcakes, while we were deprived of those cupcake stats for 3 quarters.

I was wondering this as well. Haven't been to a game at Richmond since first game in the new stadium. If there is a specific lot JMU typcally takes over I want to aim for that. Otherwise, I'm coming in from Three Chopt and just getting close to the stadium.

According to the CAA teleconference today, UR's top WR Dejon Brissett is questionable this week as he's fighting a lingering injury and didn't play against SB.

It may be coach talk, but Huesman hinted that DiNucci may be better than Schor.

Not surprising, but the family weekend Elon game's regular tickets are all but sold out. The student tickets need some work though.

“Richmond coach Russ Huesman, on upcoming game vs. visiting JMU, No. 2 in FCS: "I think if James Madison watches us on film these last couple games, they may not practice this week and rest up, or get ready for their next opponent, because it didn't look good."

LOL @ RH hoping we won’t practice.

HCMH made clear he wasn’t entirely happy with all our plays last week, and this week I’m betting a lot of things get “fixed” in the red zone and with turnovers.

Show up early if you want a good spot. The lots are actually pretty nice and there’s lot of tree coverage but there will be a line of cars waiting if you show up at 11.

Strangely haven't been able to make a game in Richmond since 08. Excited to contribute to the home away from homefield advantage this weekend. Who all ended up with tickets outside of the JMU allotment? Im in Sec 208.

We have a group of twelve in 214. Bought outside of the jmu allotment intentionally to further scatter the purple amongst the blue and red (and to take away tickets from potential Richmond fans). Go Dukes!!!
