Could be Maryland (Butch Jones), or Michigan State (Dantonio) too.
I'd bet heavily against Dantonio lasting that long. I'd also bet Kelly is out but I'm not certain on that

I was just speculating about what school Mo could be referring to. I wouldn't be surprised if all three of them were employed elsewhere or retired by 2021. I would love a shot a Kelly and ND though.

FWIW Notre Dame only looks like they have 11 games on the 2021 schedule. Not sure how their open weekends align with ours though.

I sure do too, but there's the problem with home games. If we do play in South Bend that year, our OOC home schedule is a stinker. It'll likely be Miami and a FCS buy game.

Me too.

Vanderbilt did a buy game at Notre Dame last year. If they're willing to do it, why aren't we? UC needs the money more than Vandy. And it would be a HUGE local interest, with potentially some national interest too.

Notre Dame is one of the few schools I would do a one off buy game. Great game day experience, recruiting tool, national tv, and somewhat beatable when compared to other blue blood programs.

Why do you believe that UC needs the money? I think they're in pretty good shape for the next 3 years with MLS on campus.

Umm, look at UC's athletic budget. The university had to kick in $26 million last year to fund the athletic budget.

Vanderbilt is private and doesn't have to report their budget. But they got over $40 million from the SEC. That's before any ticket revenue. That's more than UC's entire athletic revenue (not counting the $26 million university subsidy).

RE: Future schedules
Heck yeah we need the money. The BIg East exit fee money is now gone. We’re now operating on $5-6 million less per year than what we were from 2013-2018.

I could be wrong but I think a lot of that revenue from FCC goes to the University Services (parking, concessions) not the Athletic Department

RE: Future schedules
One man's opinion: the money issue is very real. Unless the economic model for the FBS changes, P5 is the only pathway to long term sustainability for UC. Many schools will drop or drop back from Division I and that cut line may fracture the AAC.

In another thread, but we picked up Murray State in 2021. Likely to fill the need for a 2nd non-conference home game.

RE: Future schedules
Different schedule question. When does spring practice start, and is there a "spring game"?
