RE: Elon Game
Given the financial needs of W&M athletics, I'd just as soon get a tax receipt for a donation as a refund for the Elon game.

I would rather get my money back. I already donate a small fortune annually.

+ 1000. And nobody likes a "forced contribution".

For what it’s worth, a buddy of mine called the ticket office yesterday asking about a refund status for the Elon game. The representative told him they would know by the end of the week whether refunds will be issued and how.

As today is “the end of the week,” I’m assuming by next Friday?

RE: Elon Game
Bobby Dwyer announced on the radio halftime show that they have decided what to do with the Elon tickets. They will give free tickets - one for one -- to future Tribe home games this year (but not the Richmond game). This applies to season ticket holders, too.

I am not pleased with this. It might be okay for single-game ticketholders - but I have two season tickets -- which is all I want or need. Therefore, I do not need any more tickets for games this year. I would much prefer to get a credit for one game's worth of next year's season. But W&M, being cheap, would rather keep my money this year and next year --- and offer extra tickets to games this year to see a team that does not appear to be very good.

Of course they won't let the free tickets apply to the one home game that fans might actually want to attend.

Whatever solution they picked was going to piss someone off. This is as good an option as any. If I’m a season ticket holder with no need for extras I take the two for homecoming and sell them.

I think that a total refund of every ticket would have pissed off absolutely no one.

RE: Elon Game
This is not a bad deal. We'll use our two for Homecoming and exchange this week.

Frankly, like some other colleges have done, I didn't expect anythoing.

Got my two tickets for Albany and Maine. They weren't great seats, but not GA. All in all I feel whole.

Even now, FBS teams are still rescheduling.

I mean, isn’t rescheduling our game kind of pointless now? Elon is pretty much a lock for the playoffs regardless of them not playing another game. Even if it is rescheduled and we win the next 3 gms, we’re most likely not going to be in the playoffs. I think ending the season with UR is the only way to do it.

That is why I specifically wrote "FBS".

FBS schools have an advantage with that first weekend in December being open for anyone not playing in a conference championship (though some conferences without a championship still play some games that date).
