Troy is probably much better than the Boise game showed, people saying ULL is back and maybe they are, but come on, it was a SWAC team. Any of us should beat them like that or worse. Wow we have a bye this week and people are making us the focus of this weeks thread. We beat a good SWAC team that any decent SBC team should beat them the way we did. By no way are we back I pray for 6-7 victories this year but the win was a good start. Im not sure how good or bad ULM is nor do I care at this point, I wish them all the luck except the last game of the year. No hate for any SBC team except when you all play us.

So you say the board overreacts because ULM barely beat a FCS team because “we don’t know how good or bad SLU is” But then you also say about Grambling “any of us should beat them like that or worse.”
Well SLC schools are better than SWAC schools. So yeah that’s what he’s saying.

In the Massey composite rankings, Grambling is 43 and SLU is 44.

This Massey rating says Grambling #70 is there an updated one?

I was saying as Golata said that we should all beat SWAC teams. There is a difference between SWAC and SLC as most all of us have found out.

Gotcha but at the end of day that dos t determine which team is better. I pretty certain SLU would take down Grambling. Underestimated them they’re going to be a good team.

Grambling is good program but overall I think the better SLC schools are better. For instance Sam Houston vs Grambling I take Sam
Houston winning big. Grambling can probably beat some teams in SLC but overall SLC is better could conference IMO.

Did they have all of that last week? Asking for a friend...

I am shocked and appalled that none of you have us beating Alabama. Where's the confidence? Where's the faith? If ULM could do it like 8 years ago against a bad Alabama team, than we can against probably the greatest dynasty College Football has seen in the modern era darn it!

Trust me when I say JMU is on an entirely different level than Kennesaw State is. JMU is 28-2 the last two seasons, with one loss to NDSU and one to UNC. They'd be in the conference championship conversation in the SBC, CUSA, or MAC.

I think you guys can keep it respectable, but just not sure you've got the running backs or defense to win.

Is there that much of a difference between top 5 FCS squads?

Once again we have to lead the conference. Some conference mates had to settle for lower ranked teams. We go for the throat!

RE: Week 2 Sunbelt Projections
Georgia State - 10 at NC State - 48

I have an inkling that this could be a close game if Elliot uses the legs of the QB to incorporate more spread option.

Arkansas State - 10 at Alabama - 41

This should be a fun game for any Sun Belt fan to watch.

UMass - 27 at Georgia Southern - 13

UMass isn't as poor as their Week 1 showing and Southern is still going through some growing pains.

Appalachian State - 48 at Charlotte - 10

This game shouldn't be within 30 points. I don't think hype is going to sustain Charlotte beyond their opening drive.

UL Monroe - 45 at Southern Mississippi - 39

Pick any score for each team over 35.

UAB - 23 at Coastal Carolina - 28

Coastal will have to figure things out eventually but their showing against SC, while poor, is better than what would've happened last season.

Texas Southern - 13 at Texas State - 45

Bottom rung FCS

Florida A&M - 21 at Troy - 31

FAMU has some athletes and Troy is in a transition period. One week may be enough time to work out the kinks but this game could be too close for comfort through halftime.

South Alabama - 20 at Oklahoma State - 63

Shouldn't be close

My Blazers were 2-4 on the road last year. We'll see if Clark has figured something out for this season. I'm making my 2nd trip up to Coastal and look forward to seeing what work they've started on the stadium.

I really want to watch ULM/USM and Coastal/UAB this week. Should be two very good games.

App is going to annihilate Charlotte.

I think you guys go 4-5 this week. Troy and App are sure wins, with Georgia Southern and Texas State wins probable. USA, Georgia State, and Ark State are sure losses, with ULM and Coastal Carolina losses probable.

Most likely SBC team to get upset win: ULM
Most likely SBC team to lose in an upset: Georgia Southern

Ok with the GaSt and State loss prediction but ULM and Coastal will not win. USA will lose by less than 30. Tx State should win but they won't beat anyone by 18. If they don't take this one, suggest they just quit and fire the coach asap.

It won’t be an easy win but we have a shot to win at USM. You don’t know what’s going to happen.

You are absolutely correct. No one does know. We may very well beat Nick and Alabama.

Unfortunately for the FCS its basically NDSU, JMU, and then everybody else. That's not to say the next 10 teams aren't good, but I would have no problem putting money down that either of those two teams could step into a G5 conference and win outright titles from day 1. The rest I'm not so sure about.

Example: Last year South Dakota St. was a top 5 FCS team and JMU beat them in the semifinal round of the playoffs 51-16. Sam Houston State was also a top 5 FCS team and NDSU beat them in their semifinal game 55-13.
