GCU soccer takes down two ranked teams in consecutive weeks
Just wanted to put in a small plug for GCU Men's Soccer. They beat 20th ranked Creighton yesterday (1-0) and took down 11th ranked Wisconsin (2-1) last week. They got 8 votes for the top 25 this past week, so we may see a them get a top 25 ranking for the first time when the rankings come out this next week.
It certainly helps to be able to play ranked teams at home. Go Lopes!

Man, do I wish soccer was a Winter or Spring sport. College kids may not mind hanging out for hours in 100+ degree heat to attend matches, but it's not for me or my family. We catch most home matches on gcu.tv, but probably won't even think about trying to get out to the stadium until mid-October.
Exciting to see them playing well, though. Who would've though GCU could lose Niki Jackson and end up being even better?

I hear you. My wife and I went to the Creighton game on Friday but left early because it was just too hot.

I'm going to say this but GCU soccer is impressing the hell out of me. Two wins over ranked teams is nothing to sneeze at. Good job. (I think I just vomited in my mouth a little!)

Beating ranked opponents is the real deal. Unlike GCU mens basketball which is all hype so far GCU soccer is for real. Would love to see them go far in NCAA playoffs representing the WAC.

GCU Soccer was all hype till this year as well. I think soccer is the precursor for basketball...

Naw. GCU basketball is all hype. Another 3rd place finish is on your horizon for the great GCU men's basketball program.

You mean Liberty, the team that destroyed a Big 12 and CUSA team? We will.
