any word on Keely, Haden, Copeland ...also didn't see Dallas Davis on the sideline

Clark did say we only dressed 90 players. Whatever that means.

They didn’t exactly say this, but the way they talked about Keely in the pregame, I got the impression he was sick

They held Keely out on purpose.

I think the number dressed was 97.

There was an article as recently as yesterday talking about Davis being an insurance policy. I was surprised to see Johnston go in last night, instead of Davis. Not sure who to believe.

I thought Johnston looked ready and was a definite change of pace. Threw a strike on a post route and just wore those poor guys out running the ball.

Good to see Noble get in there too. I think he may have moved up the depth chart last night

Oh well. I guess that explains why Davis didn't get the 2nd nod.

It doesn't matter if it's written in advance. It's still your responsibility to check if it's accurate before publication. If he indeed did leave and it happened before the story is published then that falls under the "being out of touch" category.

On the bright side, at least we know Johnston will get some experience this year.

I would doubt that Davis would have made his move to UAB without some level of assurance from our returning OC that he had a good chance to play in 2018. Now Davis has seen his competition - present and future - and perhaps figured out that he is the "odd man out". As long as he remains in school and in good academic standing, he could change his mind unless he has burned some bridge we don't know about.

Davis was apparently doing well in practice, knows Vincent's offensive philosophy etc, and does'nt really need game experience ( he has plenty of that ). Tyler, on the other hand, needs to continue to grow in his familiarity with the college game and it makes sense to me that Tyler played a few minutes last night rather than Davis getting out there. I hope that he is still with the team and will be available to step in when needed during the long season ahead.

It could have been accurate at the time according to the information media relations was sharing. Timelines are different for coaching staff, media relations, and broadcast crews.
