I get ULM does stupid things. We’re doing what we can we’re doing thing on smaller scale. I get things will be said but some of y’all say some pretty ignorant things. Y’all have no clue what’s going on at ULM but act like you’re on the inside. Just like moving down to FCS because we didn’t sign a game schedule. Some of y’all bit on that and it was pretty bad. We have that astate guy complaining about ULM Money game pay outs yet they’re similar to a state and USA over there getting 800k to play Nebraska. Lol but ULM pay out is the issue. Then this Cajun guy comes up with bright idea of playing 4 FCS games. Lol do some research on our schedule or ask me and I’ll let you know. Backhanded shade and the infamous “This is not a knock” . We beat teams in our conference and y’all act like we’re going 0-8 in the conference.

And, you're right. ULM will never go back to FCS. If they (and just about anyone else) cant make it in FBS, they'll just drop football. Idaho is the FIRST school since the permanent split that has dropped down.

Regarding the Grambling crowd. They had a nice group there - no question! I'm not an expert by any means; but I'd guess between 5-8K. Good thing about traveling fans - - if you are going to travel for the game, pretty darn certain you make it into the stadium. I spoke to several Grambling fans who stayed in the same hotel as I did. They travel well to a lot of games.............

As for the locals, honestly I'm surprised we had so many at the game. Quite a downpour from around 3Pm - game time. I traveled in from New Braunfels, so like the Grambling fans, the wife and I were going in.........whether she wanted to or not! LOL

I also think it will take some more "wait and see" from the local Cajun fans (casual fans for sure) before our numbers start getting much better. All said, I think we will have fewer fans at the next home game (minimal visiting fans from Coastal - - just too far!); but hopefully build some momentum throughout the season.

I’ll try to find the date. It was very soon though. You are correct and people don’t understand that we would definitely drop football before going FCS and that’s why that conversation is annoying. I don’t think either happen,but that would happen before FCS. Bruno has too big an ego to let that happen under his watch. He may seem to not care about athletics, but that isn’t true. He is just a micromanager.

Another opportunity at increased income and support for the athletic department is the new med school. I sat in a suite last game with the dean of the new med school. They are LOADED and do lots to support athletics from contributions, to buying a suite, to providing unparalleled medical support, facilities, and staff to treat athletes including mobile x-rays etc.

Yes, student vote. Will actually earmark some money for the band and spirit groups as well to help get passed. FYI, the band is the largest I have seen in 25 years.
