Andrew Misaiszek taken by Cleveland in the 32nd round.

Aaron Civale was called up from Triple-A Columbus Friday and will make his ML debut Saturday as the Indians play the Tigers.

He’ll be the 6th Husky to make it to the show!

Civale's big league debut can be seen on FS1 at 4pm!

So happy for him!

RE: NU baseball players in pro ball
What a debut for Aaron Civale!!!

He picked up his 1st ML win, beating the Tigers 2-0. He struck out the side in the 1st inning!

Civale's line ... 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 BB and 6 K's. He threw 87 pitches

He retired the first 8 batters he faced, striking out four of them.

He probably will get sent back to Triple-A, but he made an impression to say the least.

Great job by Civale. It's tough to crack the Indians' rotation, but with Carrasco on the shelf, all it takes is one other guy getting hurt or Plesac struggling and he'll get more chances.

Regardless, he just upped his value significantly, and that could lead to him being involved in a deadline deal that makes him a full-time starter.

I agree, although I would love to see him get a few more starts instead of the just one.

With Trevor Bauer being moved to Cincinnati in a surprise move, does Civale get called back up to the Bigs?

I’m not sure.

They have Shane Bieber and Zach Plesac to go along with the returns of Kluber and Carrasco, so I think they’ll have enough starters.

We’ll see ...

I can't imagine Carrasco returns this season. His body just won't be strong enough coming off the leukemia diagnosis.

Picked him up as a “streamer” for my fantasy team. :)

Rangers are a juicy matchup for pitchers.

Civale left the game with a 3-2 lead.

His next possible start would be in New York vs the Yanks.

Civale had another good outing against the best team in the American League but got the loss.

Highlights ... Yanks broadcaster John Flaherty's daughter goes to NU, so he had a lot to say about Civale, Otto and the university...
