Now now, you should understand by now that if they get a Top 25 ranking, you guys will be expected to call them your overlords and bow down to their every will...

He is correct about that cross country flight and believe that hurt Troy last year. Even so, with Troy starting a new QB, it will be very tough to beat Boise. Don't think it will happen. Hoping for a great start for the QB and a hot day to help wear there asses down.

This is a game that would do the Sunbelt a TON of good. It would mean that Troy had followed up their upset of LSU with another solid upset over a ranked opponent. Go get 'em, Trojans!

I actually find this kind of offensive.

Boise is only ranked like 18 spots higher, and it's just a preseason rank to boot.

Troy is a good team. The main reason this is an "upset alert" is because Troy is in the sun belt.

Over on the CUSA board a LaTech poster basically said the same. The opportunity for not just Troy but the Belts perception to really improve is there with this game. If we lay an egg the opportunity to reinforce a negative attitude about the Belt is there particularly if we go ahead and do very well in the Belt. Actually this could set us back a few years in image or enhance it considerably. I have looked forward to this game for 5 years since announced. It really does have a lot riding on it that I had never really considered. Our new quarterbacks will be baptized under fire. It will be a tall order but the payoff for Troy could be huge and the conference as well.

I think we're good, but we have a few really big question marks, and not having Lucky, Perkins, or Robinson takes some depth away. We have the potential to be a really good team, but it's likely we won't see it in full until mid season or later.

There's a pretty big gulf in between those two. Just don't get demolished. These guys are the consensus favorites for the Access Bowl.

Troy is a good team, yes. However they have a lot of questions that need to be answered and Boise is the leading favorite from the G5 for the Access Bowl this year. A Troy win would be an upset.

Also, once again why are we discussing this game in 2 threads? Everyone gets tired of our spillover, so what's the standard here?

Yes, but Boise State is widely considered the favorite for the NY6 Bowl spot. Troy beating them would be an upset and would shake things up.

I think it’s going to be a low scoring game regardless.

The Troy crowd needs to be into it from the very start. The home field could be the difference.

I think more goes into deciding the top 20 than the next 20-40. I also think preseason rankings are very meh.

It's an upset, I guess by the technical definition, but I don't think anyone should be surprised if Troy wins.
