That somehow has to be against the rules. Even if he can be allowed to start at Furman, he shouldn't be allowed to start against his other school if for no other reason than insider knowledge/point shaving.

How would he be familiar with what Clemson is doing? He's not on their football team, he dont sit in their film studies, or practice with them. He may not even have a class with any of the players. Its really not a concern, but it is a cool story.

Would not want to make that drive from Greenville to Clemson every day

To assume he has insider knowledge of Clemson football simply because he goes to class there is quite a stretch.

We're not assuming anything. The probability is higher than it would be if he, say, went to FAMU but played Florida State (because they're crosstown foes).

But if there's no evidence of it, there's no reason to prevent him from playing in the game. I can't imagine a Clemson-Furman game is going to be high stakes anyway.

It shouldn't matter one way or another but what if it does? The ruling should be that he's ineligible to play in this game.

One doesn't have to go to school somewhere to gain inside knowledge of the school's football team. In absence of any evidence whatsoever, there's simply no reason to keep him out of the game.

Ok, you win..... he's a spy, sent by Furman to infiltrate Clemson and change the whole landscape of college football. Between classes, he is hiding in a garbage can taking pictures of new plays and other top secret stuff the is going on in the football program.........this has to be stopped......

I didn't say he was. I said what's fair is that he not be allowed to play due to conflict of interest.

Conflict of interest? There's nothing to suggest he has an interest in Clemson football. You're just digging yourself into a deeper hole here.

He's never been on the Clemson football team. Started at Furman, Got pre-engineering degree at Furman but taking co-op classes at Clemson through a Partnership program that other engineering students have done..

Meaning he still is technically a Clemson student.
