Looks like Gary is getting a two-way contract with the Rockets. Nice preseason for him it sounds like...

He signed the two way back in June. I guess the question is going to be if they scrap that and sign him to an Nba only contract. Clearly more money, but i think it also helps the team lock him up.

From what I have read (and from the article above which is from 3 days ago), he is going to also have a two way contract going into the season, but will be available for NBA games until G league starts. I believe under the NBA's CBA you can have 15 rostered players and two players on two-way contracts who can participate in up to 45 NBA games. So Clark and Vincent Edwards (from Middletown/Purdue) will be the two two-way players for them.

RE: Any word on Clark and Washington?
I'll admit I haven't figured out the NBA's exact roster size and how two-way players count against it but I believe Troy Caupain made the Magic's roster (as a two-way player). If that is true then Clark(Hou), Caupain(Orl), Evans(GS) and Stephenson(LAL) are all on NBA rosters. Am I missing anyone? Been awhile since I can remember four Cats in the league at the same time.

Gonna excite all the Bearcats historians with that last sentence. Off the top of my head, I'd expect we had at least five in the league at the same time with Fortson, Martin, Max, Ruben, and Dermarr in the mid aughts (maybe one more? James White?). Which I guess has been awhile. If/when Killa gets picked up by a team this year, we'll have five again.

I watched some of the replay from the Golden State - Lakers preseason game the other night and it was cool to watch Evans and Stephenson guard each other.

SIOUX FALLS, SD – The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team has acquired forward Kyle Washington from the available player pool. Washington’s first chance to suit up for the Skyforce will come on the road against the Texas Legends tomorrow night

After going undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft, Washington appeared in two games for the Detroit Pistons during the 2018 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, averaging 1.0 points and 1.0 rebounds in just 3.6 minutes per game. Washington was then claimed by the Windy City Bulls on January 11, 2019 and spent two games with Windy City this season prior to being waived.

Washington will wear No. 13 for the Skyforce and will fill the open roster spot left by DeAndre Liggins, who left the team to pursue other opportunities. Washington’s first chance to play in front of the Sioux Falls home crowd will come on Sunday, February 3 at 1:00PM CT against the Oklahoma City Blue at the Sanford Pentagon.

I've been checking their box scores and he hasn't played the last few games as I recall. Anyone have any insight on what's happening with Gary and the Rockets of late--health or performance issues?

Rockets picked up Kenneth Faried. He's experienced and tough. Was a factor on our most recent U.S. Olympic team. Gary obviously needs more time to develop his game. Hopefully, the additional playing time in the G League will give him that opportunity. The game time atmosphere will be a lot different, however, playing at Rio Grande Valley vs. playing in the Boston Garden, MSG and in places like LA, Golden State, Chicago and Philadelphia.

That might be best for Clark. Let him work on that 3 ball, which is how the Rockets need to use him.

basically this. faried has been a beast and james ennis is back. gerald green and pj tucker still getting minutes. with paul back, not enough minutes to go around...

RE: Any word on Clark and Washington?
I'm a little worried for Clark. He's not some 20 year old who needs seasoning. He's a 24 year old who's already developed. He's physically mature and has been repeatedly praised for his basketball smarts.

At least he got paid. Guaranteed $596,872 salary this year in addition to his earnings as a 2-way player for the first 7 weeks of the season. Plus his salary for next year (1,416,852) is 1/2 guaranteed.

I'm just hoping he repeats his 55% shooting from 3 that he had in the preseason. That's what got him real NBA minutes in the regular season, but his minutes faded as his 3-point shot did.

I share your concern and I'm glad he got paid the way he did. Here's hoping he regains that shooting touch and returns to the Rockets or another NBA team that will value the minutes he can contribute. He's a great success story already.

I suspect he's about done with the Rockets. He got a MAJOR opportunity, and basically didn't do much with it. As the Rockets' regulars get healthy he's going to the back of the line for PT.

Gonna have to really impress in the G league.
