RE: Bengals 2018
I seriously can't believe the Hart signing. At least make him try to go FA route and then you can get him cheap if you really want him. Can't believe they gave him that much money. Guess they want to have a high draft pick in 2020.

Bengals 2018
The Bengals are so much more interesting when they're a dumpster fire. The 90s are coming back, first they sign an inexperienced HC simply because he knows Sean McVay and now they resign one of the worst tackles in the league to a multi year extension. Can't believe the new league year hasn't even started yet. Can't wait to see who they draft. Any midget receivers to waste a high pick on?

Normally I don't think much of Paul Daugherty but his column today maybe the best ever, if you get a chance it's a must read. He might not be allowed back in locker rooms.

Nice to see the Bengals get called out, not that it matters.

I loved how he called Bengal apologists Deydream Believers.

RE: Bengals 2018
Paul Dehner Jr. highlighted today how the 2014 and 2015 draft classes derailed the momentum the Bengals had of going to the playoffs 5 straight years. There is only one player left on the team from those 2 drafts. He did go on to say that of the 512 players that were drafted in 2014-2015, only 71 signed a second contract with their team that drafted them (14%). However, for a team like the Bengals, whose philosophy is to build through the draft and retain their own, drafts like these are killers and can set you back years.

2014

1. Darqueze Dennard
2. Jeremy Hill
3. Will Clarke
4. Russell Bodine
5. AJ McCarron
6. Marquis Flowers
7. James Wright
7b. Lavelle Westbrooks

2015

1. Cedric Ogbuehi
2. Jake Fisher
3. Tyler Kroft
3b. Paul Dawson
4. Josh Shaw
4b. Marcus Hardison
5. C.J. Uzomah
6. Derron Smith
7. Mario Alford

I don't buy the addition by subtraction stuff although I do unfortunately agree with those saying Burfict's days as a difference maker are over. But I'd at least see how he's looking in training camp before making the call to cut him. On the other hand, I'm no doctor but given all the concussion stuff maybe it's time to end it for his own sake even if he can still play some. When he was healthy and not being over officiated based upon reputation (which he earned in part), he was a joy to watch.

I was glad to see they re-signed Eifert. I think he can still make a difference if he somehow stays healthy.

vontaze with the raiders. i always thought that if the bengals left i'd quit the nfl but what about the colts? i've grown fond of them over the past few years. sitting in bars in southeastern indiana not as frequently as i oughta, they got colts and bengals adorning the wall. man, i wish i could choose. how do you do it? i figured i was stuck with the bengals if i gave a damn about football

In-laws moved across the Indiana border and immediately became Colts fans. It was pretty easy for them.

I've been to several Colts games over the years and we live right on the OH/IN border and one thing I will say is it's definitely a completely different "class" of fans. That's probably the one thing that has turned me off from the Bengals more than anything over the years.

I've always belived one of the reasons Tyler Eifert has been so popular here in Cincinnati is because up until recently he had the same hair style as most Bengal fans. :)

In all seriousness, there are still a lot of dreamers that remain loyal to the orange and black. I hate to rip on them because many of them are Bearcat fans as well, some are friends and family. In all honesty it is just a bad ownership group and I refuse to give the Brown family of my hard earned money.

RE: Bengals 2018
Dropping the Bengals around 2000 was my best decision ever as a sports fan. I'm not a fair weather guy. I've sat through the rebuilding years at 5/3 and the 4 win football seasons. What I can't support is lying and corruption. Fact is MB said he needed a new stadium to compete and got the most team friendly stadium lease in the NFL. Then he proceeds to continue with the leagues smallest scouting department. At that point I was done. Not to mention after Bedinghaus gets voted out because of the idiotic lease that he stuck us HC taxpayers he takes a job with the Bengals. Looks corrupt to me.

I've tried adopting other teams but honestly I've never been able to get consistently behind any non-Cincinnati sports teams. So I'm a casual NFL fan just like I watch other sports that Cincinnati doesn't have a team in.
