No one who speaks English as a first language would ever use the term quintessential and Georgia Southern together. Ever. That's why I questioned your use of the English language. Either you do not know what that term means or you simply mis-used it.

Now, an appropriate use of that term would be: "Georgia Southern has the quintessential drainage ditch running through campus." That would be correct.

As much as I love Appalachian, I don't think anyone has ever termed it a "quintessential" university, nor should they.

Proving again you don't know the meaning of the word. Regional university fans gonna be regional university fans 03-lmfao

When did GS people start pretending to be scholastic? Did merging with that broke down school in Savannah give y'all a false sense of worth?

Looking down at App only makes you look more delusional. It has kind of become your identity these days. I very confused and delusional fan base. You're like the old man that just talks gibberish at the end of the bar.

So back to the topic at hand. Scoreboard!

Scholastic? I guess since day one, since scholastic means of or pertaining to schools although it is usually used to describe high schools and not universities. Another case of regionalitis I see but I have a suspicion you did not actually graduate from App for some reason. We don't have to pretend either we are on the right side of the fence of recognized national universities, with ranked programs and a carnegie doctoral university classification. Are we Havard or even uga not close but we are at least we are in the same neighborhood as far as classifications and growing.

Armstrong was a great small regional university like App just way smaller than GS so it got consolidated. Nice campus as well. Also a thriving DIV II powerhouse in a bunch of sports. Just like Southern Poly with Kennesaw which was another really good small regional tech school. It was just a money saving move for the state and is not ending. If you were not ignorant about the situation you would know that but being ignorant seems to please you. Stating facts is not looking down and not know the meaning of a word is just funny. The facts are since moving up you have, a few wins and two bowl wins over us and your best win so far is Toledo, congrats. I am sure with competent coaching we might be able to close that HUGE gap in accomplishments one day.

If you say so. App and GS are very comparable. Requirements are similar, acceptance rates, graduation rates all similar. I do see our endowment is double yours. What would be the explanation for that?

Scholastic; relating to school or placing a great emphasis on education.

I'll rephrase it so you understand. When did GS people start pretending to put an emphasis on education?

8-2 over the past decade. Scoreboard!

I checked the four biggest definition sites and none say "or placing a great emphasis on education". Are you just making that crap up to look less ignorant? If not provide the link. Only checked the four biggest so maybe I am wrong.

I guess the emphasis on ACADEMICS began was the day we became a University in 1992 then another huge leap when Pres Grube came in when he raised requirements across the board and SAT scores have improved almost every year for well over a decade. Until about 2000 all you needed was a pulse and a 900 SAT score to get in. You did not even have to have a college prep degree. Grube ended that, plus earning the Carnegie doctoral classification and the continuous addition of masters and doctoral programs since then. So I would say 1992 then real serious about 2000 to sum up.

The endowment that has more to do with 90% of our growth happening in the last two decades and only being a university since 1992. Most of our university graduates are at most probably around 45 years old from a school that only had about 11K students. Had we became a university in 1967 like you I would hope to have an endowment a little larger as well and be disappointed we were still only classified at the second tier of national rankings.

Anymore questions?

Good grief. Scholastic was not the right word. It's a message board, and my comments come out a mile a minute at work.

Maybe I should have used scholar instead. When did GS people starting pretending to be scholars? Does that work?

You know it's been a bad day when a GS fan has corrected you. Tomorrow is a new day.

BTW. They don't give people my job without being a grad, and then some. I'm not one to gloat, but you asked.

Anybody want to talk football again?

Apparently I don't? Why please, your Esteemed, prestigious Highness, educate the rest of us with your "quintessential" education from Northeast Georgia Drainage Ditch A&M, what that term means?
