Feinstein's actions aren't necessarily criminal, but they sure stink.

Feinstein also led efforts to bring China into the World Trade Organization in 1999, which gave Beijing permanent normal trade relations status and removed the annual congressional review of its human-rights and weapons-proliferation records...."

Feinstein is running for re-election. Having come in first place in California's non-partisan primary, she will face the primary runner-up on the November ballot. That candidate is also a Democrat, who is very much in the mold of Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

What limited polling I’ve seen shows Feinstein ahead by 25+ points. It’s hard to see how she could lose. But at age 85, and clearly losing the strength/stamina a job like US Senator requires, it may be an unexpected issue like this that turns the race upside down.
